Link’nX KNX-IoT gateway: KNX integrations and scenarios
Link’nX is the Can’nX KNX-IoT gateway: it bridges IP devices and the installation’s KNX bus. The guides cover access to a project and its gateway, uploading ETS group addresses, building scenarios from triggers, conditions and actions, KNX functions and the integration of third-party devices: audio, cameras, intercoms, air conditioning, EV chargers, blinds.
Getting started
Section titled “Getting started”- Open Link’nX with the access provided for your project and your gateway. Before making any change, check both names at the top of the page.
- Find the sections: Triggers, Conditions, Actions, Scenarios and Functions for automation, Devices for integrations, sorted by category. A padlock on a card means that the interface does not show its license as active for this context.
- Export the group addresses from ETS and upload the XML file, 1 MB at most, then filter the addresses to offer in configurations.
Main tasks
Section titled “Main tasks”Build automations
A scenario starts on at least one trigger, can be restricted by conditions, then runs its actions.
| Element | Guide |
|---|---|
| KNX trigger, at an exact time, solar, by HTTP URL or on a device event | Create a trigger |
| Condition on dates, a time range, days and months, day or night, a KNX value | Create a condition |
| KNX action on one or more group addresses | Prepare a KNX action or generate actions from ETS addresses |
| Assembly, order and delays | Compose a scenario, then set the order and delays |
A Hysteresis or Presence detection function monitors source addresses and directly commands a target address, without a scenario: create a function.
Integrate devices
Each integration is declared in Devices, then used, depending on the brand, in actions, triggers or a KNX gateway table. This table maps each command and each status feedback to a group address, with the DPT set by the function. The procedures are grouped by use: Audio and multimedia, Heating and air conditioning, Access control, Security and video surveillance, EV charging, Lighting, blinds and shutters. All brands are listed in Integrations.
Operate the installation
- Run an action or a scenario sequence: the command is executed on the installation.
- View the scenario history.
- Copy a share link, valid until the date displayed, to be sent only to an authorized recipient.
- In Boss’nX, a component datapoint can run a Link’nX action or scenario: see the Boss’nX page.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Login error. Redirection to Can-nx.cloud…: let the redirection complete, then request valid access for the intended context.
- Troubleshoot an action, a function or ETS files and filters.
- For an integration, start from its brand page, which points to its troubleshooting guide when there is one.
