Add a BluOS or Denon/HEOS player in Link’nX: IP address, port and ID

Link’nXAdministratorInstaller

Link’nX web: BluOS and Denon lists in the Audio & Media category, depending on the project license

Before controlling a BluOS player or a HEOS player of a Denon controller from Link’nX, declare it: name, IPv4 address, port and, for Denon, the player identifier. This declaration is then used by the BluOS actions, the Denon actions and the audio KNX mappings.

Intended for administrators and installers authorized to configure the gateway.

  • You know the IPv4 address and the port of the BluOS player, or of the Denon controller that exposes the HEOS players.
  • For Denon, you can search for the player identifier from the form, or it was provided to you and confirmed for this controller.
  1. Check the project and the gateway in the Link’nX header.
  2. In Devices, open Audio & Media, then BluOS or Denon. You can also type the name in Search a device… to find the card. On mobile, open the navigation first.
  3. If a padlock or an activation message appears, check the context. The Soon badge may also be present: it announces neither a date nor a purchase condition. For missing access, contact your distributor or support.
  4. In the list of the desired family, click Add.

In BluOS device declaration:

  1. Fill in Name, required, with at most 64 characters. Fictitious example: “Reception player”.
  2. Enter IP address: four numbers from 0 to 255 separated by dots, without a host name, a protocol or an added port.
  3. Fill in Port. The suggested value is 11000; use the port confirmed for the target player, between 1 and 65535. For a NAD CI580, the field help lists ports 11000, 11010, 11020 and 11030, one per node: identify the node concerned before choosing one.
  4. Click the round floppy disk at the bottom right. If it is grayed out, check the name, the IPv4 address and the port.
  5. Wait for Success!.

This form does not ask for a BluOS password.

In Denon device declaration:

  1. Fill in Name, required, with at most 64 characters.
  2. In IP address, enter the address of the Denon controller that exposes the HEOS players, as the field help indicates. The expected format is an IPv4 address, without a protocol or an added port.
  3. Fill in Port: the suggested value is 1255. Otherwise, use the port confirmed for this controller, between 1 and 65535.
  4. Click in Player ID. If suggestions appear, choose the identifier followed by the name of the desired player. If the identifier was provided to you and confirmed for this controller, enter it directly, with at most 64 characters.
  5. Check the name of the target player and the identifier. An IP address, an invented number or the model’s commercial name does not replace this identifier.
  6. Click the floppy disk at the bottom right and wait for Success!.

The same IP address and the same Player ID can each be used by only one Denon declaration.

  1. Click the Edit pencil of the desired row. The form opens as BluOS device modification or Denon device modification.
  2. Correct the fields, save with the floppy disk and wait for Updated!.

If you leave a modified form, read the prompt about unsaved changes: they are not saved automatically.

  1. Check the actions and associations that use the player: the deletion confirmation does not list dependent scenarios.
  2. Click the Delete trash can of the row and read the name in the browser confirmation.
  3. Cancel to keep the declaration, or confirm its deletion.
  4. After Deleted!, check that the row has disappeared.

Deletion does not restore the previous audio state, and no button restores the declaration. After a deletion made by mistake, contact support.

Success! confirms that the declaration is saved, not the connection to the player or audio playback.

  1. In the list, check the Name, the IP address, the Port and, for Denon, the Player ID.
  2. Reopen the Edit pencil to review the saved declaration.
  3. Then test the player with an action or a KNX mapping, and listen to the result.

The list is empty, yet the player is on the networkThe list shows the declarations of the open context; it is not an automatic discovery of devices. Check the gateway, then the declaration. For Denon, the player search is in the Player ID field.
The declaration is saved, but nothing playsCheck the declaration, the player selected in the action, the audio source and the expected command by following the BluOS actions or Denon actions guides.
