PoolCop KNX integration with Pool’nX
With the Pool’nX gateway and PoolCop Cloud, a PoolCop integrates with the KNX bus: water measurements, pump and valve states, water level, cover, auxiliaries, setpoints and alarms are sent to group addresses, and the pump, its speed, its forcing, the valve, the auxiliaries, the jet stream and the heating setpoint are controlled from KNX. Pool’nX communicates with the PoolCop through a PoolCop Cloud API key.
What the PoolCop integration does
Section titled “What the PoolCop integration does”| Need | Where to configure it | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Connect the PoolCop to the gateway | Type of pool, Authentification and Selected pool | Connect Pool’nX to PoolCop Cloud |
| Show measurements, pump, valve or alarms in a KNX visualization | Pool Status table | Send statuses on the KNX bus |
| Control pump, valve or auxiliaries from KNX | Pool Commands table | Control the pool from KNX |
| Know the DPTs and the coded values | PoolCop statuses and commands | PoolCop table for KNX |
| Create the addresses in ETS | Export to ETS | Export the addresses to ETS |
Step-by-step commissioning
Section titled “Step-by-step commissioning”- Open the Pool’nX window in Can’nX Cloud.
- Choose the PoolCop Cloud type, save the API key and choose the PoolCop.
- Map the statuses, then the commands, to KNX group addresses.
- Export the addresses to ETS and program the KNX devices.
- Send each command from the bus and check the resulting state in the statuses.
If something goes wrong, see Pool’nX troubleshooting.
Good to know before wiring
Section titled “Good to know before wiring”- Temperatures, pressures, volumes and flow rates are sent in the units of the PoolCop account, with no conversion.
- Pump speed, valve position, running status, filtration mode and water level are coded in DPT 5.010: the valve, for example, goes from 0 (Filter) to 5 (Rinse).
- Auxiliaries 1 to 30 follow the channels of the PoolCop’s auxiliary modules; a reserved auxiliary refuses on and off.
- PoolCop Cloud handles one request per second per key: a command can take up to about two minutes to appear in the statuses.
- The PoolCop (legacy) type, with a Poolcopilot key, offers a shorter table.
