KNX energy metering, load shedding and solar with Can’nX

Can’nX measures and manages the energy of a KNX building with four applications. Emergy’nX shows instantaneous flows (solar, battery, grid, building) and controls equipment: load shedding, solar surplus, off-peak hours or Tempo days. Chart’nX presents the history of KNX or Modbus meters in dashboards and exports the measurements. Boss’nX brings these dashboards into supervision and hypervision, and Link’nX connects an Atmoce photovoltaic and battery gateway to the bus.

Chart’nX opens from Emergy’nX (access) or from Analyses in Boss’nX (access); dashboards are configured through the Emergy’nX entry point. After saving, handle KNX address monitoring if it is offered.

  • The power values on the Emergy’nX dashboard are instantaneous, in W or kW. For energy in kWh over a period, use Chart’nX.
  • Load shedding and optimization thresholds are in watts, delays in minutes. The gap between the rising and falling thresholds forms a hysteresis.
  • Grid measurement: with the Meter type 1 signed reading, active power is positive for consumption and negative for export; 2 readings (one per direction) separate production and consumption. Each measurement is read over KNX or Modbus.
  • Solar production and the battery are read through the bus, over KNX or Modbus, or directly from a Huawei inverter over Modbus TCP.
  • In Chart’nX, Index suits a cumulative meter and Not indexed a period value; the Custom Factor multiplies the received value.
  • A missing value or a missing site does not mean zero consumption.
