Chart’nX CSV export: missing button, missing panel or failure

Chart’nX: Export to CSV window of a saved dashboard, outside the generator and preview

Export button not found, Export grayed out, panel missing from the list, panels not responding, slow export or file not found: here are the causes and checks for the Export to CSV window of a saved Chart’nX dashboard. Go directly to the question that matches your symptom. The full procedure is described in Export the data, and the file content in Choose and read the format.

The button only appears on the saved dashboard, in view mode: the generator and its preview do not show it. In the Chart’nX top bar, look for the down-arrow icon, tooltip Export to CSV. On mobile, scroll the interface if needed.

View permission is enough to export. If the icon is still missing, note the entry application and the screen title for support.

At the bottom of the window, in place of the estimate, a message gives the cause:

MessageAction
The end of the period must come after its startCorrect From and To. The dashboard configuration is not the cause.
Select at least one series to exportCheck a panel or a series in Panels to export.

Gauges and per-phase visualizations are not part of this export. Eligible time series, stat cards and pie charts are offered, including a panel you have not scrolled to yet in the dashboard.

If a title still cannot be found, clear Filter panels… when this field is present. If the list remains empty while the dashboard contains expected panels, give support the dashboard title and the chart type.

What should I do if some panels did not respond?

Section titled “What should I do if some panels did not respond?”
  1. In Export in progress…, locate the failed row and choose Retry on that row: this panel is requested again.
  2. If it fails again and a partial export meets your need, choose Finish without. This button only appears once all requests have finished, and if at least one panel succeeded.
  3. Identify the missing panels in the metadata or in the attached supplementary file. Use the partial export knowing that it does not cover the whole dashboard.

If all panels fail, or if you need all the data, choose Stop all and give support the panels concerned and the Retry attempt already made.

A large estimate shows a warning: processing may take a long time, but the export can still be started. Follow the progress rows. To limit the volume, Stop all returns to the settings, which are kept. Reduce the period or the number of panels only if that suits your need.

  • The window has closed: check your browser’s downloads and whether it reported a blocked download.
  • A message indicates that file generation failed: choose Stop all, review the period and the time zone, then try again once.

If the failure persists or no result can be observed, write to support@can-nx.com with:

  • Chart’nX, the entry application and the dashboard;
  • the symptom and the message displayed;
  • the period, time step, time zone and format;
  • the panels concerned;
  • the checks already done and their results.

Do not attach sensitive data.
