Airzone KNX integration with Link’nX
With Link’nX, an Airzone air-conditioning zone, declared through the address of its box, can be controlled from the KNX bus and from scenarios: on and off, mode, temperature setpoints, fan speed, sleep timer, slats and air ionization. Its states, such as room temperature, setpoint, mode or humidity, can also be read on the bus. Each declaration targets one system and one zone of the installation.
What the Airzone integration does
Section titled “What the Airzone integration does”| Need | Where to configure it | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Declare a box and find its zones | Airzone list, Scan the network then Discover zones | Declare an Airzone device |
| Control a zone from a KNX button | Actions tab of Gateway mode configuration | Control Airzone with KNX group addresses |
| Read temperature, setpoint, mode or humidity on the bus | Second tab of the gateway configuration | Associate Airzone status feedback |
| Change mode, speed or slats in a scenario | Airzone action | Control an Airzone zone from a scenario |
| Set a setpoint or an ionization threshold in an action | Airzone command, then Value | Fill in temperatures and thresholds |
Step-by-step commissioning
Section titled “Step-by-step commissioning”- Declare the Airzone box: find it with Scan the network or enter its IPv4 address, then choose the system and the zone, through discovery or manual entry.
- Map the commands to KNX group addresses, with the DPT displayed for each row.
- Map the status feedback in the second tab, then save.
- For automations, prepare the Airzone actions and their values, then add them to a scenario.
- Test each command on the actual zone.
If something goes wrong, the Airzone troubleshooting guide answers the common questions: no zone found, action without effect, KNX addresses not kept, outdated status feedback.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Link’nX uses the Airzone local API: it works with an Aidoo gateway, an Airzone Webserver or Hub, or any other Airzone box that exposes this API. The API must be enabled on the box.
- The mode is exchanged in DPT 20.105: 0 Auto, 1 Heat, 3 Cool, 6 Off, 8 Auxiliary heat, 9 Fan, 14 Dehumidification. Setpoints use DPT 9.001.
- Toggle device on or off follows the KNX value: 1 turns on, 0 turns off. Turn on and Turn off request their command on each write, even at 0.
- Setpoints are documented in degrees Celsius: 15 to 30 °C for the general or heating setpoint, 18 to 30 °C for cooling. For an installation in Fahrenheit, contact support.
- Feedback answers a KNX read request. It is not sent spontaneously on every change of the equipment.
- The modes, speeds, slats and ionization functions offered must exist on the hardware; the command list does not confirm it.
