Airzone in Link’nX: troubleshooting and common questions

Link’nX web: Airzone devices, scenario actions and KNX gateway table

Zone not found, action with no effect, mode refused by the air conditioning, KNX addresses lost, status feedback missing: here are the answers to the most common Airzone problems in Link’nX, for installers and administrators. Always start by checking the project, the gateway, and the IP address, System ID and Zone ID of the declaration.

How do I choose the Airzone zone to control?

Section titled “How do I choose the Airzone zone to control?”

Follow the guide Add an Airzone device and choose its zone. Discover zones offers the zones returned for the address entered. If discovery fails, enter the exact identifiers manually; do not keep 1 and 1 without checking them. If the identifiers are unknown, contact support.

Does “No zone found” mean that my box has no zone?

Section titled “Does “No zone found” mean that my box has no zone?”

No, this message is not enough to establish the state of the box. Check the address and the context, then the known identifiers. If discovery has already been retried with the right information, contact support. Do not create several declarations with zones chosen at random.

Should I use a scenario action or the gateway part?

Section titled “Should I use a scenario action or the gateway part?”
  • An Airzone action is prepared in Actions, then added to a scenario.
  • The gateway part associates commands or status feedback directly with KNX addresses, for the system and the zone of the open declaration.

Why is the action saved but nothing changes?

Section titled “Why is the action saved but nothing changes?”

Reopen the action and check all the devices, Airzone command and its parameter. After a change of command, select the desired choice again or re-enter Value, then save. Also check that the action belongs to the right scenario and that this scenario has been saved. The save confirmation concerns the saving: then watch the zone during a run.

Why does the chosen mode or speed not work on my air conditioning?

Section titled “Why does the chosen mode or speed not work on my air conditioning?”

The list of choices is common to all equipment: it does not reflect the capabilities of yours. Check the available mode and speeds with the installer. For KNX, use DPT 20.105 and the values of the modes table. If the choice remains uncertain or without effect, contact support before changing other settings.

Does the Toggle device on or off row invert the state on each press?

Section titled “Does the Toggle device on or off row invert the state on each press?”

No. In the Airzone gateway, Toggle device on or off requests the state corresponding to the KNX value: 1 turns on, 0 turns off. The Turn on and Turn off rows trigger their command on each write, including at 0. Check the chosen row against your button’s programming.

Can I enter a negative temperature or one in Fahrenheit?

Section titled “Can I enter a negative temperature or one in Fahrenheit?”

Use the limits, step and unit confirmed for your equipment, with the Airzone values guide, which covers setpoints in Celsius. The numeric field does not determine your installation’s limits. For Fahrenheit or a different value, contact support.

How do I enter an ionization threshold above 30 in an action?

Section titled “How do I enter an ionization threshold above 30 in an action?”

Contact support to establish the appropriate entry for this form. Do not reduce a threshold planned for the installation just to be able to save. Before any change, check the low threshold, the high threshold and their order.

Why has a row disappeared from the KNX table?

Section titled “Why has a row disappeared from the KNX table?”

Clear Type to filter… and uncheck Show only active: this filter hides deactivated rows. If the row comes back, check its values, then save. If it is still missing, tell support the tab and the function you are looking for.

An automatic fill does not save the table yet: then click the floppy disk and wait for Données sauvegardées avec succès ! (Data saved successfully!). Save each tab before switching. To check, reopen the gateway part from the list and read the values again; if they are not confirmed, contact support.

Why does a status feedback stay old or not appear?

Section titled “Why does a status feedback stay old or not appear?”

Check the address, the Active checkbox, the DPT and the read request, using the feedback table. A read just after a command may still show the previous state: do not send repeated commands to make the display change. For a persistent absence or an inconsistency, contact support with the checks already done.

No, these types are not offered. Depending on the need, a KNX trigger or a KNX condition can use an address that carries the right value. A feedback read on the gateway is not a spontaneous write able to trigger a scenario: if the required operation is not already confirmed, have this setup established with support.

If the problem persists after these checks, write to support@can-nx.com with: Link’nX — Airzone, the project and gateway, the device and zone concerned, the scenario action or KNX row involved, the symptom and the message, and the checks performed.
