KNX EV charger integration: Evlink, Lektri.co, Terra AC with Can’nX
Can’nX connects three EV charger models to the KNX bus and to energy management: Evlink Pro AC, Lektri.co and Terra AC. In Link’nX, the charger declared by its IP address receives commands from KNX group addresses or scenario actions, and its states and measurements can be mapped to KNX addresses. In Emergy’nX, it joins IRVE monitoring and optimization: off-peak hours, solar surplus, distribution between chargers.
Solutions for your need
Section titled “Solutions for your need”| Need | Application | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Declare an Evlink Pro AC, Lektri.co or Terra AC charger on the gateway | Link’nX, Devices → Climate & Energy | Declare an EV charger |
| Start, stop, suspend or limit charging from KNX, depending on the model | Link’nX, charger gateway, Actions tab | Associate the KNX commands of a charger |
| Read the vehicle state, currents, power or energy on the bus | Link’nX, second tab of the gateway | Read KNX feedback and troubleshoot a charger |
| Control a charger in a scenario | Link’nX, Evlink Pro AC, Lektri.co or Terra AC actions | Prepare a charger action |
| Monitor charger power and its share of the building’s consumption | Emergy’nX, IRVE | Monitor EV chargers |
| Configure the charger, its intensities and its optimization options | Emergy’nX, Equipment → Add Equipment | Configure an EV charger |
| Force on or off, return to automatic or send a setpoint in amperes | Emergy’nX, Dashboard → Equip. | Choose Auto, OFF or ON and send a custom value |
In Emergy’nX, a charger of another model is configured with the Other type and its KNX links: active power, intensity, vehicle connection status and commands.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Current limits are expressed in amperes, not kW, in DPT 14.019 on the KNX side; 6 to 32 A for Evlink Pro AC. To stop charging, use the stop command: a setpoint of 0 or below 6 A does not replace it.
- The KNX Stop charging, Start charging, Suspend charging or Lock socket rows (DPT 1.001) are distinct commands: do not treat a write of 0 as cancelling them.
- Lektri.co pause, resume, reset and schedule override are in the KNX gateway, not in the actions. To run an Evlink Pro AC or Lektri.co action from a scenario, first have the path confirmed by support.
- Vehicle state (Evlink), Charging state (Terra AC) and Charger state (Lektri.co) are status codes, not a battery level.
- In Emergy’nX, both intensities accept values from 6 A. With Managed, Overload protection and Balancing between chargers are always active; Charge anytime has an exception on Tempo red days.
- On the IRVE dashboard, a charger’s percentage is its share of total IRVE power, not the charging progress.
Applications involved: Link’nX and Emergy’nX. For the building’s load shedding and tariffs, see Energy and metering.
