Shelly KNX integration with Link’nX: relays, covers, lights

With Link’nX, the relays, covers and lights of a Shelly device are controlled from the KNX bus: on/off, toggle, open, stop, position and brightness. Its states and measurements (relay and light state, power, energy, cover position, device temperature) can be read back by the bus. Link’nX reaches the device locally, through its IPv4 address and port.

Control the device in a scenarioKNX action on the mapped addressPrepare a KNX action
  1. Identify the device’s model, generation, mode and channels, as well as its local access credentials.
  2. Declare the device in Smart Home → Shelly: name, IPv4 address, port (80 by default) and credentials if access is protected.
  3. Map its commands to KNX group addresses in the Actions tab of the gateway table.
  4. Map its status feedback and measurements in the second tab.
  5. Send each command from the bus, for example with the ETS group monitor, and watch the device.

If something goes wrong, the Shelly feedback guide covers commands with no effect, a channel that does not respond, a missing position and energy that seems a thousand times too high.

  • For a protected Gen2 or Gen3 device, the username is admin; for a Gen1, use the credentials of its local access. Have a Gen1 cover or dimmer validated by support.
  • The table offers the same rows for every model (relays 0 to 3, covers 0 and 1, lights 0 and 1): only activate the channels the device actually has.
  • The toggle (DPT 1.017) inverts the state on each telegram, including 0: a button that sends on press and on release causes two inversions.
  • The cover position (DPT 5.001) follows the KNX convention: 0 = open, 100 = closed. Power is in W (DPT 14.056), energy in Wh (DPT 13.010).
  • There is no dedicated Shelly action type or trigger: a scenario controls the device through a KNX action on the mapped address.
