Reolink camera and KNX integration with Link’nX
With Link’nX, a Reolink camera is controlled from the KNX bus or from a scenario: floodlight, brightness, siren, infrared, PTZ preset and reboot. Its motion, person, vehicle or pet detections can start a scenario or be read back on the bus. The available functions depend on the model and its configuration.
What the Reolink integration does
Section titled “What the Reolink integration does”| Need | Where to configure it | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Switch on the floodlight, set its brightness or activate the siren from a KNX button | Gateway table, Actions tab | Map commands and feedback to KNX |
| Move the camera to a preconfigured PTZ position from the bus | PTZ preset row of the gateway table | Map commands and feedback to KNX |
| Read the floodlight, infrared or detection state back on the bus | Gateway table, second tab | Map commands and feedback to KNX |
| Send a command in a scenario, to one or several cameras | reolink action | Control a Reolink camera |
| Start a scenario on a detection | reolink trigger, Event type field | Use Reolink detections |
Step-by-step commissioning
Section titled “Step-by-step commissioning”- Declare the camera in Devices → Security & Access → Reolink: name, IP address, HTTPS port, channel, username and password.
- Map its commands and feedback to KNX group addresses, with the DPT of each row. Save each tab before switching to another.
- Prepare the Reolink actions and triggers, then add them to the scenario.
- Test each command and each detection on the camera.
If something goes wrong, the last section of the commands and detections guide covers rejected commands, commands with no effect and scenarios that do not react.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- The HTTPS port is prefilled with 443. The channel is 0 for a single-lens camera, or the NVR channel. The form rejects a new Reolink camera whose IP address is already declared.
- Floodlight, siren, infrared and reboot are mapped in DPT 1.001, brightness in DPT 5.001 (0 to 100%) and the PTZ preset in DPT 5.010, from 1.
- A brightness of 0 does not replace an explicit floodlight switch-off. Enabling infrared allows it to operate automatically, without guaranteeing that it stays on.
- A trigger waits for a new detection: a detection that stays active does not restart the scenario, and checks are periodic.
- The rows offered do not guarantee that each model has a floodlight, a PTZ motor or a given detection.
