Reolink and KNX: map commands and feedback to group addresses

Link’nXAdministratorInstaller

Link’nX web: KNX gateway table of a declared Reolink camera

The Reolink gateway table in Link’nX maps the group addresses of your KNX project to the commands of a Reolink camera (floodlight, brightness, siren, infrared, PTZ position, reboot) and to its status feedback (floodlight, infrared, motion, person, vehicle or pet detection). A KNX object can then control the camera without going through a scenario.

Intended for the authorized installer or administrator. For a scenario action or a detection trigger, follow the Reolink commands and detections guide instead.

  • The camera has gone through the Reolink declaration: check in particular the channel and the model’s functions.
  • The group addresses and their DPTs are defined in the KNX project. Check them with the installer.

In Devices → Security & Access → Reolink, click the Gateway mode configuration two opposite arrows, to the left of the camera’s pencil.

The KNX table guide describes the address formats, the filters and the Active checkbox in the header, which also acts on hidden rows.

  1. In the Actions tab, choose the useful rows using the table below.
  2. For each intended row, fill in Address with the KNX group address assigned to this function and check Active.
  3. Click the floppy disk at the bottom right before switching tabs. Wait for Succès (Success) with Données sauvegardées avec succès ! (Data saved successfully!).
Actions tabDPTMeaning of the value
Floodlight1.0011 requests switching on, 0 switching off.
Floodlight brightness5.001Percentage from 0 to 100. To request an explicit switch-off, also use the appropriate Floodlight command.
Siren1.0011 activates, 0 deactivates.
Infrared lights1.0011 allows the infrared to operate automatically, 0 disables it.
PTZ preset5.010Integer number of the preconfigured position, from 1. Zero does not designate a position to use.
Reboot1.0011 requests the reboot; 0 does not trigger it.
  1. Open the second tab, with a speech-bubble icon.
  2. Map the desired rows to their group addresses and check Active.
  3. Save this tab in the same way.

Commands and feedback are separate associations.

FeedbackDPTReading
Floodlight state1.001Activation state of the floodlight.
Floodlight brightness state5.001Percentage reported by the camera.
Infrared lights state1.001Infrared allowed or disabled; this state does not tell whether the lamps are lighting at that moment.
Motion, Person detected, Vehicle detected, Pet detected1.001State of the corresponding detection, if available on the model.
  1. Go back to the list, reopen the gateway and review the saved values.
  2. Send a command from the bus, for example with the ETS group monitor, and watch the camera: Données sauvegardées avec succès ! only validates the save.
  3. Check each feedback on its own group address.
  • Check the right camera and its channel, the address, the Active checkbox, the DPT and the function actually available.
  • Treat missing feedback as missing information, not as a zero value, a stop or an absence of detection.
  • The rows are the same for all models: check that the camera has the floodlight, the PTZ motor or the detection concerned.
  • For a saved command without effect or a missing detection, follow the Reolink troubleshooting.

If the checks have already failed or if an association remains uncertain, contact support@can-nx.com with the context, the row concerned and the tests done.
