Add an Airzone device in Link’nX and choose its zone

Link’nX web: Airzone list in the Climate & Energy category, declaration of the box and its zone
Declare an Airzone box in Link’nX: its IPv4 address, then the system and zone it must control. Link’nX controls the air conditioning through the Airzone local API: an Aidoo gateway, an Airzone Webserver or Hub, or any other Airzone box that exposes this API. The form can find the box on the gateway’s network and discover its zones.
Intended for installers and administrators. This declaration is the prerequisite for Airzone scenario actions and KNX command associations.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Check the project and gateway displayed, then find Airzone in the device navigation, in the Climate & Energy category. The navigation guide explains access to the cards and the mobile menu. If the option is not available in your context, contact support.
- Have the box’s IPv4 address and the identifiers of the system and zone to control ready, in case the scan and the discovery do not find them.
Enter the name and the box
Section titled “Enter the name and the box”- In the Airzone list, click Add. The Airzone device declaration form opens.
- Fill in Name, required and limited to 64 characters. Fictitious example: Living room air conditioning.
- In the Airzone box step, click Scan the network and wait for Scanning the network… to finish.
- Choose your box, shown by its host name and IP address. The selection fills IP address and starts the zone discovery. A box marked Local API not detected cannot be chosen: first enable the Local API on the box.
- If the box does not appear, enter IP address: four numbers from 0 to 255 separated by dots, without protocol, port, path or host name.
Choose the zone to control
Section titled “Choose the zone to control”- In the Zone to control step, click Discover zones. The button waits for a valid IP address and stays disabled during Discovering zones….
- Choose the right zone. Each row shows its name, or Unnamed zone, and its location, for example “System 1 · Zone 2”.
- The selection fills System ID and Zone ID, and also Name if this field was empty. Reread the three fields: choosing a zone does not save the declaration.
- Without discovery, enter the installation’s two identifiers. These required fields are prefilled with 1 and accept whole numbers from 1 to 32; this range belongs to the form, it is not the number of systems or zones of your box.
If you change the IP address after a discovery, run Discover zones again before choosing a row. Run discovery from only one form at a time.
Save and check the declaration
Section titled “Save and check the declaration”- Reread the IP address, the system, the zone and the name.
- Click the floppy disk at the bottom right, then wait for Success! and the return to the list.
- Check the Name, IP address, System ID and Zone ID columns.
Success! confirms that the declaration is saved. To check that the right zone responds, then test an action or a KNX association and watch the air conditioning.
Edit or delete a device
Section titled “Edit or delete a device”To edit a device, click its Edit pencil. In Airzone device modification, correct the fields, save with the floppy disk, wait for Updated! and check the list. Changing the system or the zone changes the declaration’s target: first check the automations that use it.
To delete a declaration, check its uses, then click its Delete trash can. The browser asks Delete item name?: canceling keeps the declaration, confirming deletes it. After Deleted!, check that the row has disappeared. This confirmation does not list the affected scenarios and no restore is offered. Deletion does not undo air-conditioning commands already carried out.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Message or symptom | Action |
|---|---|
| No zone found, followed by the address | This message is not enough to conclude that the box has no zone. Check the address, the context and that the box is online, then run the discovery again or enter the known identifiers |
| Gateway offline / box unreachable — enter the zone manually | The message alone does not give the cause. Enter the exact identifiers if you know them; otherwise, contact support instead of keeping 1 and 1 by default |
| No Airzone device found (mDNS must be enabled on the device) | Enable mDNS on the box or enter its IP address |
| Gateway offline or scan unavailable — enter the IP manually | Enter the box’s IP address |
| Floppy disk disabled | Check the name, the IPv4 and the two identifiers, filled in between 1 and 32 |
If the zone name remains unexpected or if the right system/zone pair cannot be confirmed, contact support before saving. For other blockages, follow the Airzone troubleshooting.
