Emergy’nX: configure Presence/Absence and Summer/Winter KNX feedback

Emergy’nXAdministratorInstaller

Emergy’nX, Building Config: Special Conditions card, Presence / Absence and Summer / Winter tabs

The Special Conditions in Emergy’nX associate the Presence/Absence and Summer/Winter states with KNX feedback: a group address, its DPT and the value that corresponds to each state. Energy control uses them to apply its season or presence variants.

For the installer or administrator in charge of energy control.

For each condition used, prepare the feedback address, its DPT and the KNX value of each of the two states. Do not assume that 0 always means Absence or Summer: if the actual values are not known, have them confirmed by the installer.

  1. In the right project, open Building Config → Special Conditions → Configure, or Edit. On a small screen, first open the three-line menu.
  2. Choose the Presence / Absence or Summer / Winter tab.
  3. Fill in Feedback Address, then Feedback DPT. If you choose an address from the ETS suggestions, also check and complete the feedback DPT.
  4. Under Values, fill in the two mappings of the tab: Presence - KNX Value and Absence - KNX Value, or Summer - KNX Value and Winter - KNX Value. As soon as a feedback address is filled in, its DPT and both values are required. 0 is a valid value; an empty field does not equal zero.
  5. If the other condition is used, open its tab and fill in its own address, DPT and two values. Switching tabs lets you edit the other condition; it does not control the actual state of the building.
  6. Click Save at the bottom. Wait for Configuration saved successfully.

An unused condition can remain without an address. Do not enter an arbitrary address to make a warning disappear. This feedback is separate from the ON/OFF commands of a piece of equipment and from the parameters specific to its modes.

Go back to Building Config, reopen Special Conditions → Edit and reread the two tabs used. The success message confirms that the address and values are saved, not that a signal has been received: then have someone check on the bus that the planned feedback actually sends the values entered.

In Energy Control, the Season and Presence options let you define variants. The variants guide explains how to prepare the lists and thresholds without losing the other configurations. Selecting Winter in an editor does not force winter on the installation: the actual state comes from the KNX feedback, provided that the link and the values match the feedback actually planned.

A tab contains an error after SaveReopen this tab and check the address, the DPT and the two values. Do not clear a valid zero thinking you are leaving the field empty.
Energy control shows Summer/Winter signal not configured in House Config… or Presence/Absence signal not configured in House Config…Check the corresponding condition in Building Config → Special Conditions, its saved address, then the parameters of the variant used. Have the actual values confirmed by the installer if they are not known.
The warning has disappeared, but the expected variant does not applyThe warning disappears as soon as an address is saved, even if no signal has been received. Reread the saved parameters and have the planned feedback and its mapping checked. Do not start a series of random changes.

If the checks have already been done without result, contact support@can-nx.com with the condition, the scenario, the indications displayed and the attempts made.
