Chart’nX: three-phase energy dashboard in view mode, phase panels and balance card
On a three-phase energy dashboard, Chart’nX shows the current of each phase L1, L2 and L3 as lines or as a heatmap, their average over the period and a card that quantifies the imbalance between phases. Users read the data there; the installer or administrator examines the configuration.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- The dashboard is a three-phase energy dashboard that offers the phase panels.
- It is open in view mode, with the period and the precision checked.
Display the per-phase current
Section titled “Display the per-phase current”- Locate the panel that offers Apparent power and Per-phase current in its header. These buttons are present only if the dashboard provides these views.
- Select Per-phase current. If a second row of choices appears, Lines displays the time series and Heatmap a grid of values per phase and per interval.
- To return to the other presentation, go back to Lines or Apparent power.
The phase views do not modify the installation settings.
Read the heatmap
Section titled “Read the heatmap”- In the Heatmap grid, locate the L1, L2 and L3 rows, then the interval on the horizontal axis.
- On a computer, hover over a cell to see the phase, the time and the value. Cells without a value remain empty.
- To isolate a range of values, move the handles of the horizontal color bar under the grid. Cells outside the range are dimmed; move the handles back to the ends to see the whole range again.
Read the mean current per phase
Section titled “Read the mean current per phase”A Mean current per phase panel shows the phases and their average over the period. The moy (mean) mention and the dotted line indicate the average of the available phase values.
A Live per phase panel shows live values: do not confuse it with this period summary.
Interpret the phase balance
Section titled “Interpret the phase balance”The Phase balance card, when it is offered, compares the average currents of the three phases over the period. Its percentage corresponds to the largest deviation from their common average, expressed as a percentage of that average. The signed L1, L2 and L3 indications show the deviation of each phase. The help icon near the title recalls this definition.
| Indication | Meaning and action |
|---|---|
| Phases balanced | The card recalls Load gap between phases · 0 % = ideal. |
| Moderate imbalance | The card suggests Monitor … (most loaded). |
| High imbalance | The card suggests Move a load from … to …. |
| Incomplete data | A phase has no usable measurement over the period. Check the dates, then have the meter and the monitoring checked if the absence persists. Do not replace the missing value with zero. |
| N/A, with load < 5 A — imbalance not meaningful | The imbalance is considered not significant at this low load. Choose a relevant operating period before comparing the phases. |
Read each indication in the context of the chosen period, as a pointer for the installer to confirm. Pass the monitoring or load-shifting suggestions on to the installer in charge of the electrical network: the dashboard does not carry out this intervention.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Phase views missing: first check the dashboard type and the available panels with the installer. Per-phase measurement setup is described in Configure the per-phase measurements of a meter. Do not enable Three-phase on a single-phase installation to make these views appear.
