Add a Sony or Samsung TV in Link’nX: IP address, PSK and pairing token

Link’nX web: Sony TV and Samsung TV lists in the Audio & Media category, depending on the project option
Declare a Sony or Samsung TV in Link’nX with its IPv4 address, then its Pre-Shared Key (PSK) for Sony, or its pairing token and MAC address for Samsung. This declaration prepares the communication settings then used by scenario actions and the TV’s KNX mappings.
Intended for the administrator or installer with access to the project, the gateway and the relevant integration.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Note the actual IPv4 address assigned to the TV in your installation.
- For Sony, have the PSK specific to the authorized TV ready. There is no universal key.
- For Samsung, note the MAC address if you plan network wake-up (Wake-on-LAN).
- If your installation is not already validated, have support confirm the model’s compatibility and the necessary manufacturer settings. Obtaining and revoking credentials, manufacturer menus and firmware variants are confirmed for each model.
Declare the TV
Section titled “Declare the TV”- Select the project and the gateway in Link’nX.
- In the device navigation, open Audio & Media → Sony TV or Samsung TV. You can also search for the brand name. On a small screen, first open the navigation.
- Click Add. The title shows Sony TV declaration or Samsung TV declaration.
- Fill in Name, required, up to 64 characters. Fictitious example:
Fictitious room TV. - Fill in IP address, required, in IPv4 format, for example
192.0.2.21as a fictitious value. Enter the address itself: a host name or an address including a port does not replace this field. - Complete the brand-specific fields described in the table below.
- Click the floppy disk at the bottom right. Wait for Success! and the return to the list.

For Samsung, leave the token empty to prepare a first connection. The TV may still require an authorization before accepting commands, and a token retrieved after connection does not necessarily appear in this form. If pairing remains uncertain, ask support for the steps suited to the model. Do not reset the TV or its pairing for this reason alone.
The PSK and the token may be visible in the fields. Do not send them by message or by e-mail, and mask them in screenshots.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”On the TV’s row, open the Edit pencil to review the saved settings. Success! confirms that these settings are saved; pairing and command reception are then checked by sending a command from an action or a KNX mapping and watching the TV.
Edit or delete a declaration
Section titled “Edit or delete a declaration”With Edit, change only the relevant settings, save, then reopen the declaration to check. If you leave a modified form, answer the save prompt.
The Delete trash can in the list asks for confirmation. First check the actions and mappings that use this declaration, with the help of the lists and confirmations. This deletion does not reset the TV and does not revoke its authorizations.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Floppy disk disabled: check Name and IP address; for Sony, also check the PSK. The Samsung token and MAC are not required to save.
- Brand entry missing: check the project, the gateway and the accessible options with Link’nX navigation. Access depends on the option available for your account, not on its presence in a presentation: do not assume a purchase or an activation.
- Declaration saved but no reaction: check the action target and the context. For Samsung, continue with command troubleshooting. For Sony, have the use of the commands validated.
- Already checked or persistent message: contact support@can-nx.com with the brand, model, context, message and steps tried, without the PSK or token.
