Sony TV action in a Link’nX scenario: commands, volume and HDMI

Link’nXAdministratorInstaller

Link’nX web: Sony TV action form, with a Sony TV declared in the project and gateway

The Sony TV action in Link’nX prepares a command for one or more declared Sony TVs: power, volume, mute, HDMI input, channel, playback or app launch. A scenario then sends it when it runs.

Intended for the administrator or installer. To control the TV directly from the KNX bus, use the TV’s KNX gateway instead.

  • The TV is declared in Link’nX, in the right project and gateway.
  • The complete configuration and launch procedure has been confirmed by support for your version and your model.
  1. Open Actions → Add → Sony TV.
  2. Fill in Name, required.
  3. In Sony TV device, select one or more recipients. Select all checks all the TVs offered.
  4. Choose the Sony TV command, then fill in Command value when this field appears, using the table below.
  5. Click the floppy disk at the bottom right and wait for Success!.

If the choices shown are ambiguous and you do not know which group of fields to use, stop the preparation at this step and ask support for the procedure, with a masked screenshot if useful. Do not fill in several contradictory selections in an attempt to save.

CommandCommand value
Set volumeInteger from 0 to 100, including 0; no decimal or negative value
Volume up, Volume downPositive or zero integer, required: the field cannot remain empty. Have the step and its meaning confirmed for the intended use
Set inputHDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3 or HDMI 4, chosen from the list; check that this port exists on your model
Launch appText field: the app identifier or URI, to be confirmed for the app and the TV. The app’s commercial name does not replace it
Power on, Power off, Mute, Unmute, Toggle mute, Channel up, Channel down, Play, Pause, StopNo value to enter

This table describes the form’s choices. Wake-up from standby, the effect on the screen and status feedback are checked on the installation. The binary commands of the KNX gateway, such as Set power, belong to a different context: in this action, use Power on and Power off.

Once the use has been validated, add the action to a saved scenario. Saving the action does not trigger it: the command is sent when the scenario runs.

To edit, duplicate or remove the action, follow action editing. Have the Sony settings confirmed before saving them again. Removing an action does not cancel a command already received by the TV.

Success! confirms that the action is saved. To check that the command is received, run the scenario during an authorized test and watch the TV.

  • Saving impossible: check Name, at least one Sony TV device, a Sony TV command and its value when one is requested. For volume, 0 is valid; 101 and decimals are not. If the preparation is still blocked although these fields are filled in, have the procedure suited to your screen confirmed.
  • Empty TV list: go back to the declaration and the context, without immediately recreating the TV.
  • Scenario runs without result: check the declaration, the recipients, the values and the scenario launch. Do not redo the pairing or replace the PSK without suitable instructions.

If these checks have been done, contact support@can-nx.com with the checks carried out, the model and the expected result.
