Crestron and KNX: declare a CI BAOS configuration in Link’nX
Link’nXAdministratorInstaller
Link’nX web: Crestron list, CI BAOS declaration form in file or KNX address mode
A CI BAOS configuration in Link’nX connects a Crestron program to your KNX gateway: the Crestron program targets the IP address of Link’nX, on a port specific to each configuration. You create it with the ETS CSV report of the CI-KNX device, or with group addresses already uploaded to Link’nX.
Intended for installers and administrators who have the parameters of the Crestron programming and of the KNX gateway. To change an existing configuration, follow the management guide.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You know the Link’nX IP address targeted by the Crestron programming, the port planned for this configuration, separate from the others, and the KNX gateway parameters assigned by the installer.
- Depending on the chosen mode, you have the ETS report in CSV, or the group addresses are already uploaded from the ETS file.
Open Crestron and choose the creation mode
Section titled “Open Crestron and choose the creation mode”- Check the project and gateway displayed, then open Crestron in the equipment navigation. The navigation guide explains how to access the cards and the mobile menu.
- Read the page reminder: Make sure the Link’nX IP address is the same as in your Crestron programmation.
- Click Add with file if you have the CSV report, or Create with KNX addresses to start from the addresses uploaded to Link’nX.
Fill in the name, port and KNX gateway
Section titled “Fill in the name, port and KNX gateway”- In CI BAOS declaration, fill in Name, for example the fictitious name Crestron living room.
- Fill in Port, which shows the range 12000-12999, with an integer in this range matching the port of your Crestron programming. The initial value is 12004: check that it is suitable and not already assigned to another configuration.
- Fill in KNX Gateway IP, Gateway port and Gateway physical address with the values of your installation. The first two fields are prefilled with 127.0.0.1 and 3671: check them before confirming. The example 15.15.250 in the last field shows the format; it is not an address assigned to your installation.
If several configurations use the same gateway, have the installer confirm the common KNX parameters.
Add the CSV file or the KNX objects
Section titled “Add the CSV file or the KNX objects”- File mode: under Upload configuration, click click here to upload or drag and drop your CSV. Check its name and that no rejection indication appears.
- Address mode: follow the KNX object selection, then return to saving.
Save the configuration
Section titled “Save the configuration”- Reread the name, the ports, the gateway parameters and the file or the objects.
- Click the round button with a floppy disk, at the bottom right of the form. It stays disabled while a required field is empty, or while the main port is outside the indicated range or already belongs to another configuration.
- Wait for Success! before leaving the form: the file or the table is only saved at this step.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”In the Crestron list, check the Name, Port and File of the configuration. On a display less than 700 pixels wide, the Upload date column is hidden. Then test a command from the Crestron programming and watch the KNX equipment concerned.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Message or symptom | Action |
|---|---|
| Crestron missing or unavailable | Contact support to check the option applicable to your context. |
| Port N is already used by the CI-KNX device “name” | Another configuration of the gateway uses this port. Enter the port planned for this configuration in the Crestron programming. |
