DoorBird Cloud and KNX: create and delete access codes

Link’nXAdministratorInstaller

Link’nX web: KNX gateway table of a connected DoorBird Cloud device

The DoorBird Cloud gateway table in Link’nX maps KNX group addresses to three access code commands: create a code on relay 1, create a code on relay 2, delete a code. The bus sends a six-digit PIN in DPT 15.000, and Link’nX creates or deletes that code on the intercom’s keypad.

Intended for the authorized installer. Access Control bookings follow their own path.

  • A connected DoorBird Cloud, with the Connected status.
  • A device that has the keypad and the necessary capabilities: see Keypad and Relays in its connection record.
  • The KNX group addresses validated for the project.

In Link’nX, check the project and the gateway. Open Devices → Security & Access → DoorBird Cloud and locate the right row. Click the two opposite arrows, whose tooltip is Gateway mode configuration, to the left of the Edit pencil. The common behavior of the table (filters, addresses, automatic fill) is detailed in the KNX table guide.

  1. In the Actions tab, choose the necessary rows using the table below.
  2. In Address, fill in the KNX group address of each command, then check Active. This field expects a group address, not the PIN.
  3. Save with the floppy disk at the bottom right and wait for Succès (Success) and Données sauvegardées avec succès ! (Data saved successfully!). The page stays open.
RowFunction described in the helpDPT
Create a code — relay 1Receives a six-digit PIN and creates that code on the keypad; the code will trigger relay 1.15.000
Create a code — relay 2Same function for relay 2, if this relay exists on the device.15.000
Delete a codeReceives the PIN of the code to remove and deletes it if it was created by Link’nX. Codes created outside Link’nX are never deleted.15.000

Filling in the table neither creates nor deletes any code: each operation takes place when the bus sends a PIN to the corresponding address. The table always offers all three commands; before using Create a code — relay 2, check Relays in the connection record and the planned wiring.

The second tab, the one for status feedback, is empty for this integration: no confirmation of code programming or door opening is sent back to the bus.

To stop a mapping, uncheck its Active checkbox, save, then reread the table. The codes already created stay on the keypad.

  1. Return to the list, reopen the gateway of the same device and reread the addresses and the Active checkboxes.
  2. As the table returns no feedback, check the effect of a command on the intercom’s keypad itself.
  • Erreur lors de la sauvegarde des données. (Error while saving data.): the table is not saved. Return to the list, reopen the gateway and reread it before trying again.
  • A command has no effect: check that it is the right device, its status, its capability warnings, the targeted relay and the active mapping.
  • An expired connection prevents any code creation or deletion: reconnect the device from its DoorBird Cloud record.

If the problem persists, contact support@can-nx.com with the function, the model, the status and the attempts made, without sending the PIN.

French labels: Configuration de la partie passerelle, Actions, Créer un code — relais 1, Créer un code — relais 2, Supprimer un code. The table’s save messages remain in French.
