Create a booking and a guest access code in Access Control

Access Control: New booking form of a site, French interface

An Access Control booking gives a guest an access code for a specific access point, for example a door or a room, during a defined period. The code is generated on creation; the guest views it through the link received by email.

For the administrator, in the French interface.

  • Your session is open, as described in the sign-in guide, and the site is accessible to you.
  • The access point is already configured for this site. Configuring a new device is the installer’s responsibility: see Declare a device in Link’nX.
  1. In the navigation, select Sites, then the site name in the list under Sites. Check the name displayed at the top of the page.
  2. Select Nouvelle réservation (New booking), at the top right of this page.
  3. Check the site in the breadcrumb and in Récapitulatif → Site (Summary → Site).

The form has no site selector. To change site, use Retour (Back), choose the right site, then start again. The Nouvelle réservation button on the Aujourd’hui (Today) and Réservations (Bookings) pages opens the form on the first site in your list: start from the site page to book elsewhere.

  1. Under Choix de l’accès (Access point selection), select the card with the access point name. A hors ligne (offline) card cannot be selected; without a chosen access point, the booking cannot be created.
  2. Under À qui (facultatif) (To whom, optional), fill in Email de l’invité (Guest email) if the guest should receive the link that lets them view their code. Fictitious example: invite@example.com. Without an address, no email can be sent to this guest from this booking.

The link is sent automatically before the access starts, according to the delay set in Paramètres (Settings): see Send the guest link and set its delay.

  1. Under Quand (When), check Fuseau horaire (Time zone), which defaults to your browser’s time zone.
  2. Fill in Du (From) and Au (To). The end must be strictly after the start.

A shortcut such as 2h recalculates both dates from the moment you select it; for future access, enter and reread the dates. The shortcuts range from 1h to 1 mois (1 month), which here means 30 days.

  1. Review Récapitulatif (Summary): Site, Accès (Access point), Email, Du and Au. You do not choose a PIN: Code d’accès (Access code) shows généré à la création (generated on creation).
  2. Select Créer la réservation (Create booking). The button shows Enregistrement… (Saving…) during the request. After a successful creation, the site page appears again.

Before validation, Annuler (Cancel) leaves the form without requesting the creation. After creation, see Edit or delete a booking.

Find the booking in En ce moment (Right now), À venir (Upcoming) or Réservations → Toutes (Bookings → All), then check its times and state. For DoorBird Cloud, also look at the programming indication when it is present. Only an on-site opening test, during the period, confirms that it works.

Access point missing or hors ligneDo not choose another access point to work around the block.
Nothing happens after validationFirst look for the booking in Toutes to avoid a duplicate.

Other cases are covered in the Access Control troubleshooting guide. If the problem persists, contact support@can-nx.com with the site, the name of the access point, the message displayed and the steps already tried. Do not attach the PIN.
