In Link’nX, an action, a condition or a trigger can be used in several scenarios. The chain-link icon of each item shows the scenarios that use it: check it to identify the scenarios to review before changing or removing a shared item.
Intended for administrators and installers.
Show the scenarios that use an item
Section titled “Show the scenarios that use an item”- Open Triggers, Conditions or Actions and find the item in the list.
- If Select mode is active, click Cancel Selection to get the row buttons back.
- To the right of the item, click the chain-link icon with the tooltip Show scenarios using this element. A number accompanies the links when at least one scenario is shown as linked.
- The Scenarios using this element window lists their names. Note the scenarios to check, then click Close.
- To view a listed scenario, open Scenarios and search for its name, in the same project and the same gateway (see the access guide).
A crossed-out link icon, without a number, shows This element is not used in any scenario. The window may repeat this message. This check covers the configuration of the scenarios shown for this context, not the physical state of the equipment.
To then change the item, follow the guide for actions, triggers or conditions. To remove it, follow deleting automation items.
Understand configuration warnings
Section titled “Understand configuration warnings”| Warning | Where it appears | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| This element has no device declared! | Warning triangle on an action or a trigger | Check the context, then the expected equipment in its Devices family. |
| This scenario is missing a trigger or an action | Warning on a scenario | Open its configuration to identify what is missing, as described in composing a scenario. Do not run the sequence to test at random. |
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- An expected scenario is missing from the list: check the displayed project and gateway.
- A warning persists after checking, or the right association cannot be found: contact support@can-nx.com with the item’s name, the scenario, the message and the steps already taken. Do not send any password or full access link.
