In a Boss’nX supervision, the bar in the header shows your usual pages and the Menu button gives access to every allowed page, with a search. You choose the pages of your bar. The pages offered depend on the context (a building’s supervision, a supervision opened from a hypervision, or the hypervision view) and on your account’s permissions.
These landmarks assume an open session: to sign in or end the session, see Boss’nX access.
Find your way in a supervision
Section titled “Find your way in a supervision”- Look at the header. On the left, the site name appears; Main building is shown if no title is available.
- Click the site name or Dashboard to return to the dashboard of the current context.
- Use the pages of your bar, to the right of the site name. By default it offers Dashboard, Building, Components, Alarms, Schemas and Analytics, depending on your permissions.
- Below the header, a second row shows the other pages of the same family: for example Network health, KNX gateways and Alarm rules on the Alarms page.
The site name shown in the header is not a building selector. To open another context, use its access link or the hypervision chips when they are offered.
Open a page with the Menu
Section titled “Open a page with the Menu”- Click Menu, the three-line icon to the right of the bar. With the keyboard, use Ctrl K, or ⌘ K on a Mac.
- Find the page in its family, or type a few letters in Search a page, a zone, a component…. The search also finds zones, components, schemas and tabs.
- Click the page, or press Enter to open the first result. Escape clears the search, then closes the Menu.
| Family | Pages offered depending on permissions |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Dashboard |
| Building | Building, Site view, 3D building, Components, Schemas |
| Alarms | Alarms, Network health, KNX gateways, Alarm rules |
| Analytics | Analytics |
| Schedules | Time programming, Indicator templates |
| Administration | Users, Activity log, Guest access, Site Information |
| Integration | KNX commissioning, Building organisation, Datapoint tags, Data logging, Modbus gateways, BACnet devices |
The Integration family can be folded: click its title to show its pages. The Menu only lists the pages allowed for your account. Being able to open a page does not automatically give the right to modify its content.
Choose the pages of your bar
Section titled “Choose the pages of your bar”- In the Menu, click the star to the right of a page. A filled star shows that the page is in your bar; click again to remove it.
- To reorder the bar, choose Customise my bar, at the bottom of the Menu or in the account menu.
- Drag a page by its handle, or use its up and down arrows. The cross removes a page; + Add a page adds one.
- To return to the six original pages, click Restore the default bar.
Alarms always stays in the bar: its padlock indicates Always visible. Pages marked with a phone also appear on phones. Beyond six pages, a small screen may not show them all.
On a tablet and on a phone
Section titled “On a tablet and on a phone”On a screen less than 1024 pixels wide, the bar moves to the bottom of the screen: it shows the first six pages of your bar on a tablet and the first four on a phone, followed by Menu. The Menu then opens full screen, with the same search, families and stars. The Close the Menu cross, or the Escape key, closes it without opening a page. On a phone, the account menu, with Log out, is at the end of the Menu.
Change the language
Section titled “Change the language”- In a supervision, click Language, the globe icon at the top right.
- Choose Français or English. The active language is ticked.
In the hypervision view, use the FR and EN buttons in the header. The choice is remembered in this browser.
Navigate in the hypervision view
Section titled “Navigate in the hypervision view”On a computer, the consolidated view offers Hypervision dashboard and Aggregated alarms, as well as Hypervision users when this menu is allowed. It has no Menu, does not include the configuration pages of a supervision, and the logo returns to the hypervision dashboard.
On a screen less than 1024 pixels wide, these links move to a bar at the bottom of the screen: Home, Alarms and, when allowed, Users.
Find the guide for a page
Section titled “Find the guide for a page”On some pages, the Guided help button, shaped like a question mark, offers a guided tour of the page. The following guides describe each page:
- Dashboard: the energy breakdown of a supervision. An authorized person can associate a Chart’nX dashboard with the widget and organize the dashboard blocks. For a missing chart or a save without result, follow energy troubleshooting.
- Analytics: the Trends tab, to select measurements and request their chart. For the Chart’nX tab, follow opening it from Boss’nX.
- Alarms: the alarm history, to find an alarm, read its status or filter the list.
- Network health: the status of monitored IP and KNX devices.
- Schemas: the Schemas page, to open a drawing and its layers.
- Time programming: find a time program, activate it or run it depending on your permissions.
- Guest access: QR management, for guest access.
- Data logging: the KNX addresses to log and Modbus register readings.
- Site Information: the site title and location.
- BACnet devices: declare a BACnet device and discover its objects.
- Modbus gateways: add or edit a Modbus gateway, for shared Modbus TCP access.
- KNX gateways: KNX gateway statuses.
- Users, Roles tab: the list of roles, to check the permissions and the accounts associated with a role.
- Account menu: changing your password.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Page missing from the bar: look for it in the Menu or with its search, then add it with the star. If it does not appear in the Menu either, have the permissions assigned to your account checked.
- Edit button missing: editing the dashboard requires a separate permission, Edit own dashboard, and its Edit layout button only appears on the dashboard. A read-only role can give access to data without allowing commands or changes.
- A page sends you back to the dashboard: have your administrator check your access to this page and to the building concerned. Do not change navigation addresses to work around missing access.
If the problem persists, including for a hypervision link you cannot find, contact support@can-nx.com, specifying the product, the context, the menu or page you are looking for and the checks already made.
French labels: Tableau de bord for Dashboard, Bâtiment for Building, Composants for Components, Analyses for Analytics, Langue for Language, Personnaliser ma barre for Customise my bar and Modifier la disposition for Edit layout; Menu keeps the same name.
