Boss’nX, Schemas page of a supervision: viewing drawings with a mouse, a trackpad or a finger

The Schemas page of a Boss’nX supervision gathers the site’s control drawings, organized in layers. There you search for a schema, choose the layer to read, zoom and move the framing. It opens in a supervision viewed directly or from a hypervision.

For people who have the View schemas right. For a drawing displayed in the Dashboard, whose controls differ, follow the schema block guide. To duplicate or delete a schema, follow schema management.

  1. From the Dashboard of the supervision concerned, click Schemas in the header bar.
  2. If Schemas does not appear in the bar, open Menu, the three-line icon, then choose Schemas in the Building family. The Menu search also finds a schema by its name. On a tablet or phone, the pages of your bar and Menu appear at the bottom of the screen. Display variants are described in the navigation landmarks.
  3. Wait for Loading… to finish. The list appears on the left and a drawing may open automatically: the last schema viewed in this browser, if it is still available, otherwise the first available schema in alphabetical order.
  1. If the list is reduced to badges with initials, click the Expand sidebar icon at the top of the column, which shows a side panel and an arrow pointing right.
  2. In Search schemas…, type part of the name. The search also covers the description and the creator’s name when they are filled in. No results concerns the current search: the drawing already open may remain visible. Clear the text to get the whole list back.
  3. Click the name of the schema you want. The small chevron to the left of the name shows or hides its layers in the list, without changing the drawing being viewed on its own.
  4. Click the layer name, under the schema, and wait for it to display. The framing adapts to the new layer.

Schema and layer names are those of your installation. The counter at the bottom of the panel shows the total number of schemas, even when the search filters the rows.

To give the drawing more room, click Collapse sidebar, at the top right of the panel. The remaining badges still let you open a schema; on a computer, hovering over one shows its name.

The bar at the bottom of the drawing shows its dimensions, the number of elements in the layer and the current zoom. If it is not fully visible, scroll the page or use a wider screen.

GoalControl and result
Zoom in or outZoom in (Ctrl + scroll up) and Zoom out (Ctrl + scroll down) magnifiers. Each click changes the zoom by ten points, between 25% and 200%.
Return to the reference sizeClick the percentage, tooltip Reset zoom to 100%. The zoom returns to 100% without recentering the drawing.
Get an overall view backFour-corner Fit to screen icon, just after the zoom-in magnifier. It recalculates the zoom and the position for the available space.
Return to the reference positionIcon with four arrows pointing to the center, after the zoom controls, whose tooltip starts with Recenter canvas. It restores the position of the last fit without changing the current zoom.
Find the gesturesQuestion-mark icon Navigation Controls, on the right of the bar. The cross, Esc or a click outside closes the help.

To recalculate both the zoom and the position, after a window size change or a move, use Fit to screen: recentering or returning to 100% does not replace it.

On a computer, start the gesture on an empty area of the drawing.

On a touch screen, swipe one finger on an empty area to move the framing. The pinch described in the help concerns the trackpad: no two-finger touch zoom is described for this page. Collapse the side panel to gain space; if the controls remain hard to reach, continue on a wider screen.

Section titled “Expand cards and follow links in the drawing”

The two double-chevron icons in the bottom bar have the tooltips Collapse all cards and Expand all cards. They reduce or expand the display of compact cards that offer additional datapoints. Expanding a card changes no setpoint and gives no additional rights.

A navigation link placed in the drawing can lead to another layer or another schema. Its text is specific to your installation. To choose a layer precisely, return to the list on the left and click its name. To define the drawing opened by a link, see configuring its destination.

Equipment command buttons and fields depend on the drawing and on your account’s rights: the right to view schemas is not enough to establish which commands you can perform.

Review the name of the schema and layer selected in the list, then the bottom bar: number of elements in the layer and current zoom. Zooming, moving and displaying cards are for viewing: they save no new layout of the drawing.

  • A very large drawing remains partly out of view at 25%: move the framing or use a wider screen.
  • The displayed drawing is not the expected one: in the list, click the name of the schema you want, then its layer.
  • The list is empty, a loading message persists or the Schemas page cannot be found: follow schema troubleshooting.
