Boss’nX: guest access by QR code, location, validation and session messages
Location refused, QR code not assigned or unavailable, validation impossible, missing zone or command: here are the answers to the most common problems for guests who open a room’s Boss’nX QR code or resume a session. Always start from the displayed message, without changing the site settings to try things at random.
What should I do when location blocks access?
Section titled “What should I do when location blocks access?”Follow the row that matches the displayed message.
| Displayed message | Check and next step |
|---|---|
| Location access is blocked. | Allow location for this page in the browser settings, then reopen the full guest link. The browser menus depend on the phone used. |
| This browser does not support location access. | Open the link in a recent browser that can use location. |
| Couldn’t determine your location. | Check that the phone’s location services are turned on, then reopen the link to restart the request. |
| Location lookup timed out. | Reopen the link and allow location again if it is requested. |
| Your location is too imprecise. | On the authorized site, move to a place with a better GPS signal, then reopen the link for a new attempt. |
| You are not at the authorized location to use this QR. | Check the room, the site and the QR code used. If you are already in the right place, report it to the manager, without asking them to disable the restriction. |
| This QR is not configured correctly. | Contact the site manager: they can check the QR code’s location. Changing the phone’s permission does not resolve this message. |
After the browser permission, the position may still be judged imprecise or outside the authorized location: then follow the row of the new message.
What does “This QR code is not assigned yet” mean?
Section titled “What does “This QR code is not assigned yet” mean?”No component is assigned to this code yet. Contact the manager so that they check the assignment with the QR configuration. Waiting for a GPS permission or resetting your password does not create this assignment.
What does “This access is not available right now” mean?
Section titled “What does “This access is not available right now” mean?”The message does not tell the guest the cause. Have the manager check the code and its assignment. Do not conclude that the QR code has been deleted, that a license is missing or that a piece of equipment has failed.
What should I do if parameters are missing or validation fails?
Section titled “What should I do if parameters are missing or validation fails?”For Missing access parameters., Unable to resolve guest access. or Guest session validation failed., scan the room’s QR code again or reopen the full link provided by the manager. Do not rebuild the link and do not change its parameters.
Why is a room, a component or a command missing?
Section titled “Why is a room, a component or a command missing?”- Check the displayed project and zone, then the zone selector on a computer or phone.
- If Read-only guest mode appears, have the manager check the type of access.
- If Session expired appears, scan the QR code again as described in resuming a guest session.
- If the right zone remains empty or if the component is missing, have the selection assigned to the QR code checked rather than concluding that the equipment has failed.
What should I do if the result of a command remains uncertain?
Section titled “What should I do if the result of a command remains uncertain?”First check the session and the status feedback before sending the command again. The message Action non confirmée. Veuillez réessayer. (Action not confirmed. Please try again.) does not indicate that nothing happened. Note the component, the datapoint, the requested value and the feedback obtained; if the problem persists, contact support instead of sending more commands.
Contact support
Section titled “Contact support”If an attempt suited to the message fails, write to support@can-nx.com, stating: Boss’nX, the project and zone concerned, the exact message, the component if relevant, the browser, your presence on the site for a location message, the steps already tried and their result. A useful screenshot hides the QR code, the private link and sensitive data. There is no need to send your precise position.
