Use the Boss’nX guest space: zones, commands and expired session

After opening a guest QR code or link, the Boss’nX guest space shows the authorized components, zone by zone. There you choose the zone, view or control the components, and resume the session when Session expired appears.

Intended for users who entered with a QR access. First check the project and the zone shown at the top of the screen.

Choose the zone

1. On a computer, if several zones are offered, click the zone you want in Zones, on the left.
2. On a phone, tap the selector under the project name: it shows the current zone, a counter and a down arrow. Its accessibility name is Select a zone. Select the zone in the list.
3. Check the zone name in the header and the displayed component cards. Independent refers to the components presented outside the ordinary zones.

With a single zone, no multi-zone selector appears. Only the zones offered by this access are available. A zone already chosen with this QR code may be reopened automatically the next time it is opened in this browser: check its name. If two names look alike, use the floor or building indications when they accompany the name.

View or control a component

The components and their datapoints are displayed directly on their cards. In this space, the component name does not open the administration detail, and the usual building management menus are not needed.

• For a datapoint with two state buttons, choose the label you want, for example On or Off when these names are configured.
• For a list of values, open the field with the arrow, then choose the option you want.
• If Confirm the command appears, Send confirms and Cancel abandons the request.

Read-only guest mode means that this access only allows viewing. If you need to control, ask the manager to check the appropriate access: scanning again does not turn a read-only access into a control access.

Resume an expired session

The Session expired banner asks you to scan the QR code again. The components and their values may remain displayed, but the controls are locked; a padlock may accompany them.

1. Stop using the commands of this session.
2. Scan the QR code provided for the room again and open the link. If the access was sent to you as a guest link, reopen this full link.
3. Repeat the position check if it is requested.
4. Check that the banner has disappeared and that the project and the zone are correct.

The expiry concerns the session, not the printed QR code: the session duration must not be confused with an end date of the QR code.

Check the result

After a command, check the available status feedback before sending another one. A displayed value or a sending message is not enough to certify the physical result; avoid repeating a command whose effect remains uncertain. After resuming a session, also check the displayed values before deciding on a new command.

Troubleshooting

If the new opening is refused or if the banner comes back immediately, follow the guest access help. If the problem persists after these checks, contact support@can-nx.com with the project, the zone, the message and the attempts already made. No QR code, private link or secret is needed in this e-mail.
