Boss’nX, supervision dashboard: overview, statistics, image and external links

Figures to change, a fifth statistic that cannot be added, a KNX measurement that cannot be found, a dash instead of a value, a photo rejected or deleted, a link button that opens a form: here are the answers to common questions about the Dashboard of a Boss’nX supervision, opened directly or from the hypervision. For the full procedures, see reading the overview, its statistics, its image and external links.

Where do I change the figures under my site’s name?

Section titled “Where do I change the figures under my site’s name?”

In the overview settings, if you have the right to edit the dashboard. Choose the Edit layout pencil, then the small round orange settings button at the top left of the image area. In Overview widget settings, configure the Statistics. To simply view a value, read the card: there is no need to open the settings.

Where do I change the city name or the weather?

Section titled “Where do I change the city name or the weather?”

Not in the statistics window: Overview widget settings states that the title, location and weather are shared and cannot be edited here. Do not change a KNX statistic to change the weather. To establish the right path for this information in your interface, contact support.

The overview offers at most four. To replace a card, remove the one you no longer need or change its source and label, then repeat the two saving steps. You can also keep no statistics at all.

Why does my temperature measurement not appear in the KNX choice?

Section titled “Why does my temperature measurement not appear in the KNX choice?”

Start with the search: in Choose a datapoint, clear it, then try the component name, the measurement label or its group address. Check the building part, the floor and the zone; unattached items are grouped under No…. If the measurement is still missing, have its availability for reading in this context checked. If selection remains impossible after these checks, contact support.

Does the dash mean zero, and why does the card show 1 or 0?

Section titled “Does the dash mean zero, and why does the card show 1 or 0?”

No: — means that no usable value is displayed for this card. 1 and 0 can represent binary data; their meaning depends on the datapoint. Have its source and unit checked if needed. If the display remains unexplained after these checks, contact support.

I wrote kW instead of W: is the value divided?

Section titled “I wrote kW instead of W: is the value divided?”

No. The Unit field changes the displayed label without converting the number. Keep the unit that really matches the measurement. If you cannot establish the right unit or the right source, contact support before changing the card any further.

Why are the old figures still there after Save?

Section titled “Why are the old figures still there after Save?”

For statistics, saving happens in two steps: Save in the window prepares the cards, then Finish editing saves the dashboard. Check that both steps were done in the right supervision. If they were and the reopened dashboard still does not show the expected result, the cause remains to be established: contact support, stating what you chose and what appears.

It depends on the panel:

  • Overview widget settings: Cancel or the cross discards the changes still in the window.
  • Small External link panel: the cross closes the panel while keeping the prepared fields. To return to the state at the start of editing, before Finish editing, then use Restore original layout; this action also affects the other prepared changes to the dashboard.

Can I undo a photo change or deletion with Restore?

Section titled “Can I undo a photo change or deletion with Restore?”

No. Uploading and deleting the image are immediate, and Restore original layout does not bring back the previous photo. If you have a copy, upload it again with the Change image cloud. Otherwise, contact support to explain your request, with no guarantee of automatic recovery.

If the rejection is about size, prepare an image of at most 1 MB, that is 1,048,576 bytes. For framing, try Original size in the choice next to the image buttons, then check the result. This choice remains limited to the block’s space and may revert to Fit to container after reopening. If the problem persists, follow the image troubleshooting messages.

Section titled “Why does my blue link button open a form instead of the site?”

The dashboard is in edit mode: the blue button and its gear are then used to configure the link. Finish the changes you want with Finish editing, then use the button outside edit mode. If the link remains inaccessible, follow link troubleshooting, then contact support if these checks fail.

Section titled “What if the link panel is cut off or hard to use on a phone?”

On a computer, close the small panel, widen the widget from its gray corner at the bottom right, then reopen Configure the link. On a phone, if the settings remain inaccessible, use a wide screen. If that is not enough, contact support.

If the problem persists after these checks, write to support@can-nx.com stating the product, the supervision, the widget concerned, the symptom, the displayed message, the steps already taken and, for a display problem, the screen size. A screenshot without sensitive data can help. Do not send any password, key or confidential link.
