Boss’nX overview image: add, change or delete the site photo

The site photo or visual appears in the Overview block of a Boss’nX supervision Dashboard. You can add it, replace it, choose its framing or delete it from edit mode.

Intended for the administrator or installer authorized to edit the dashboard. For the figures in the same block, follow the statistics configuration.

Before you start

• Prepare an image file of at most 1 MB, that is 1,048,576 bytes.
• Keep a copy of the current visual if you want to be able to put it back: uploading and deleting an image take effect immediately, and the dashboard’s Restore original layout does not bring back the previous image.
• Use a wide screen if the editing controls are not accessible.

Add or replace the image

1. Open the right supervision, then Dashboard, and click the Edit layout pencil in the header.
2. Find the block bearing the site title, corresponding to Overview. Depending on the width, its image is below the information or to its right. If the block is missing, follow the visible widget choices.
3. At the top right of the image area, click the cloud with an upward arrow, Change image.
4. In your device’s file picker, choose the prepared file. Selecting it starts the upload: there is no additional Save button for the image.
5. Wait for Uploading… and the loading to finish, then check that the expected visual appears.
6. Finish editing the dashboard with Finish editing, the blue floppy-disk button that replaces the pencil in the header. If you also changed statistics, links or the layout, review those changes before saving them.

If you close the file picker without choosing a file, no image is uploaded. Once the upload is done, return to the previous visual by uploading its copy again with Change image.

Choose how the image is displayed

Next to the two image buttons, the Image display mode choice offers:

• Fit to container: fits the image to the area. A landscape or square image may be cropped; a portrait image is contained within the available space.
• Original size: keeps the image’s proportions within the limits of the area. The image can therefore be scaled down if the space is smaller than the file.

Check the result in the image area. This choice applies to the current view and may revert to Fit to container after reopening. To change the size of the block itself, use dashboard resizing.

Delete the image

1. In edit mode, check that you are in the right supervision and that you have a copy if you want to be able to put the image back.
2. Click the trash can at the top right of the image area, next to the cloud, Delete image.
3. Deletion starts immediately, with no confirmation. Wait for Deleting… to finish.
4. Check that the visual is replaced by Visuel indisponible (Visual unavailable) and Ajoutez une image depuis le mode édition. (Add an image from edit mode.)

The block and its statistics are kept. To put an image back, use Change image: neither Restore original layout nor closing the dashboard undoes the deletion.

Troubleshooting

Message or symptom	Action
The image exceeds the maximum allowed size (1 MB).	The file is not uploaded. Prepare a lighter copy, check its size, then select it again.
No upload starts	Check that the chosen file is recognized as an image and that you did not simply close the file picker. Try again with the prepared file.
Unable to upload the image.	Check the connection and the chosen file, then try once more.
Unable to load the image.	Check the connection, finish the changes in progress, then reopen the dashboard once. Even after an upload, this message alone is not enough to conclude that the image was not saved.
Unable to delete the image.	Check the displayed result and the connection, then try once more.

Give the supervision, the message, the file type and size, the displayed result and the attempts made. A screenshot without sensitive data can help; no password or confidential access link is needed.
