The Export CSV button of the Boss’nX alarm history downloads the rows of the displayed tab, with your filters and sort order, into a file to open in a spreadsheet. The export is available in a supervision and in the hypervision’s aggregated alarms.
For any user authorized to view alarms: the export covers the rows accessible to them.
Export the displayed alarms
Section titled “Export the displayed alarms”- Open Alarms in the supervision, or Aggregated alarms in hypervision.
- In Alarm History, choose the tab you want: Ongoing, Ended or, in the supervision, Standby.
- Set the search, the chips and the period bounds, then check the resulting rows. See the history filters.
- Choose the order you want by clicking the header of a sortable column.
- Click Export CSV, at the top right.
- Find the file in your browser’s downloads.
The export covers the results of the active tab, with the current filters and order. The checkboxes are used for deleting entries: they do not define the export. To export several tabs, repeat the procedure in each one.
The file name starts with alarms-active-, alarms-inactive- or alarms-standby-, followed by the date and time of the export, and ends with .csv.
Read the file
Section titled “Read the file”The file contains the columns ID, Severity, Floor, Component, Message, Start, End, State, Triggered value, Cleared value and Acknowledged. The values High, Medium, Low, Active and Inactive remain in English; acknowledgment is indicated by Yes or No in the English interface.
- Start and End: exported dates are in international UTC format, recognizable by the final Z, whereas the page shows the browser’s local times. In this fictional example, 2026-01-15T10:00:00.000Z means ten o’clock UTC. A difference from the local display is therefore normal.
- Triggered value: the value recorded at the time of the trigger. It differs from the live value marked with a green dot in the table and does not apply that table’s presentation with unit or factor. Leave a missing value empty: it does not equal zero.
- Project and Reason: these columns are not in the file, even when the page shows them. To keep the context of an aggregated extraction, filter one project at a time and clearly identify each downloaded file.
Open the file in a spreadsheet
Section titled “Open the file in a spreadsheet”If the spreadsheet asks for import options, choose the UTF-8 encoding and the semicolon separator. Line breaks in texts are replaced by spaces in the file.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”Compare the number of rows and a few values in the file with the table on the page before using the export, allowing for the UTC offset of the dates.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- The button is disabled: the filtered list is empty, and the button may show No alarms to export. Check the tab, remove unnecessary filters and check the period bounds. An aggregated display hidden according to your role does not allow this export.
- No file can be found although the button is active: check the downloads and any browser prompts.
If the problem persists or if the content does not match the expected rows, contact support@can-nx.com, specifying the context, the tab, the filters and the result observed.
