Boss’nX, supervision dashboard: viewing and settings of schema blocks

Block added without a drawing, old layer coming back, changing zoom, plan cut off, Clear or Delete, schema that does not load: here are the answers to common questions about the schema blocks on the dashboard of a Boss’nX supervision. The full procedures are in reading a schema and configuring its block.

No. In Visible widgets, Add schema creates a block in the dashboard. Then open its Settings to select a schema that is already available. A new drawing is created from the schemas list, with the + button whose tooltip is Create schema: see schema management. If the expected drawing is not in the list after clearing the search, have the supervision and the available schemas checked.

Why does the old layer come back after a change with Layers?

Section titled “Why does the old layer come back after a change with Layers?”

The Layers button, at the bottom right of the block, changes the view for the current viewing only. To set the starting layer, enter edit mode, open Settings on the block, choose the Layer field, then finish with Finish editing. Reopen the dashboard to check this choice. The details are in the configuration procedure.

Why is the layer found after Finish editing not the one I chose?

Section titled “Why is the layer found after Finish editing not the one I chose?”

Check that you are looking at the same block in the same supervision, then reopen its settings once and read the Layer field again. If you have already done so or if the result remains unexpected, contact support stating the schema, the expected layer and the one found in the field.

The drawing is reframed automatically each time it opens. While viewing, click the percentage, Reset zoom, to return to 100%. Fit to view recenters the drawing and adapts the zoom to the block. A different zoom on reopening is therefore normal: it affects neither the schema association nor the saved starting layer.

Why does Fit to view leave part of the plan outside the frame?

Section titled “Why does Fit to view leave part of the plan outside the frame?”

The zoom is limited to between 20% and 300%. On a very wide plan, the 20% minimum can be reached before the whole drawing fits in the block. Then move the view on a computer or use a wider screen, as described in the viewing gestures. If the elements you are looking for remain inaccessible, report it to support with the schema, the layer and the screen size.

What if the layer name hides the zoom buttons on a phone?

Section titled “What if the layer name hides the zoom buttons on a phone?”

Use a wider screen: the layer name can take up space at the bottom of the block. Viewing the plan requires no change to components. If the controls remain inaccessible on a wide screen, report it to support with a screenshot without sensitive data.

Does closing the settings cancel my choice?

Section titled “Does closing the settings cancel my choice?”

No. The Close settings cross closes the panel and keeps the prepared choices. To keep them, use Finish editing. To abandon them, use Restore original layout: it discards all the dashboard changes since the start of this editing session.

What is the difference between Clear and Delete?

Section titled “What is the difference between Clear and Delete?”

Clear, in the Schema choice, removes the prepared association and keeps an unconfigured block. Delete, at the bottom of the panel, removes the block from the dashboard without an intermediate confirmation. In both cases, Restore original layout returns to the state at the start of editing as long as it has not been saved. Removing a block does not delete the schema drawing: see remove a block.

First select the schema in the block’s Settings and wait for it to load. The Layer field appears if the schema has several layers. With a single layer, the Layers viewing button is also disabled. If you expect several layers, report it to support specifying the schema and the context.

If Unable to load schema. remains displayed although you have already checked the supervision and reopened the dashboard, contact support. Avoid deleting or recreating elements because of this message alone.

Write to support@can-nx.com with: Boss’nX, dashboard schema, the supervision, the expected schema and layer, the layer found, the displayed message, the approximate screen size and the steps already taken. A screenshot without sensitive data helps identify the block.
