Boss’nX, supervision dashboard in edit mode: schema block and its settings
On the Dashboard of a Boss’nX supervision, a schema block shows a drawing already created for the site (plan, zones, components), opened on the layer of your choice. This procedure adds the block, associates it with a schema, sets its starting layer and saves the dashboard; it also lets you undo these changes or remove the block.
Intended for the administrator or installer allowed to edit the dashboard of a supervision, opened directly or from a hypervision. To view a schema that is already in place, follow reading a schema.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Your account can edit the dashboard of this supervision. The widget types offered depend on the role’s authorizations.
- The schema to display already exists: here, Add schema adds a display block to the dashboard without creating a new drawing.
Add a block and choose the schema
Section titled “Add a block and choose the schema”- Open the expected supervision, then Dashboard.
- Wait for loading to finish and click the Edit layout pencil in the header.
- In Visible widgets, find the Schema section, then click Add schema.
- Scroll the dashboard to the new block. It shows No schema configured. Enable edit mode to select one.
- Click Settings, at the top left of the block: the button has a slider icon and the tooltip Open settings. The Schema settings panel opens.
- Open Schema, filter with Search a schema if needed, then click the schema you want. Each entry also shows its number of layers and elements.
- Wait for it to load and check the drawing in the block.
Several blocks can show different schemas or layers. To change an existing association, enter edit mode and directly open Settings on the block concerned.
Choose the starting layer
Section titled “Choose the starting layer”When the schema has several layers, the Layer field appears in Schema settings. With a single layer, this field does not appear.
- Open Layer.
- Filter with Search a layer if needed, then click the name you want.
- Check the selected name and the view displayed in the block.
After changing the schema, choose its layer again if needed.
The Layer field sets the layer kept for this block. The Layers button, at the bottom right of the drawing, is only used to change the view temporarily while viewing.
Close the panel and save the dashboard
Section titled “Close the panel and save the dashboard”The panel has no separate Save button: your choices are prepared in the dashboard being edited, then saved with Finish editing.
- The cross at the top right of the panel, tooltip Close settings, closes the panel and keeps the prepared choices.
- On a computer, drag the gray Schema settings bar, tooltip Drag to move this panel, to move the panel. The drawn schema does not move.
- Review the chosen schema and layer.
- Close the panel if needed and check the block layout. To move or resize it, follow dashboard organization.
- Click Finish editing, the blue floppy-disk button that replaces the pencil in the header, and wait for the result.
Undo changes or remove a block
Section titled “Undo changes or remove a block”Before Finish editing, Restore original layout, in Visible widgets, returns the dashboard to its state at the start of this editing session. It discards all the changes in progress, including adding a block or choosing another layer: see the scope of this restoration.
The small Clear cross in the Schema selection removes the prepared association. The block stays in place and becomes unconfigured. Depending on your goal, choose another schema or restore the changes before finishing editing.
To remove the block from the dashboard:
- In edit mode, open its Settings.
- Click Delete, at the bottom of the panel. The block disappears without an intermediate confirmation.
- To go back before saving, use Restore original layout.
- To keep the removal, click Finish editing.
This removal affects the block, not the schema used: you can add another block and select this schema again if it is still available. To duplicate or delete the drawing itself in the schemas list, follow schema management.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”- Reopen Dashboard and check the schema and its starting layer, or that the removed block is gone.
- To review the saved fields, enter edit mode again and open Settings on the block.
The drawing is reframed automatically each time it opens: a different zoom on reopening is normal and affects neither the schema association nor the saved layer. To adjust the view being consulted, use the zoom and framing controls.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Observation | Check |
|---|---|
| Settings is missing | Check that you are in edit mode on the right dashboard and that your account can edit it. |
| Add schema is missing | Have the dashboard editing right and the widgets authorized for the role checked. |
| No schema available | First clear the search. If no result appears, have the schemas available in this supervision checked. |
| Loading or error message in the panel | Wait for its outcome before changing the associations. |
| Layer is missing | Wait for the selected schema to load. This field appears when the schema has several layers. |
| Unexpected schema or layer after Finish editing | Check the same block in the same supervision, then reopen its settings once. |
| Controls or fields not accessible | Use a wider screen. |
If these checks have already been made or if the state remains uncertain, write to support@can-nx.com stating the supervision, the schema, the expected layer, the observed result and the steps already taken.
