Delete a component and its datapoints from its detail in Boss’nX

The trash icon in the detail of a Boss’nX component removes this component and its datapoints from the supervision, after a browser confirmation that repeats its name. After confirmation, this path offers no restore button.

Intended for the administrator or installer who has the component management right in the supervision concerned. To select several components, use the list’s deletion mode instead.

Before you start

• Check the component’s identity and the consequences of its deletion for the people who view it.
• The indicators of its zone that use this component may also be removed.
• If the consequences on your configuration are unclear, contact support before confirming.

Delete the component

1. Choose Building, By floor tab, open the zone, then the component’s detail through its name or the View details icon, as described in open a component.
2. Check the name shown at the top of the large central card.
3. Click the trash icon at the top right of this card, next to the edit pencil. Its tooltip is Delete component.
4. The browser opens a confirmation: Êtes-vous sûr de vouloir supprimer le composant ”…” ? (Are you sure you want to delete the component ”…”?) Check the name in the question.
5. To delete the component, accept the confirmation. To keep it, cancel this dialog. The labels of these buttons depend on the browser and its language.
6. Wait for the return to the previous page.

Check the result

Go back to the component’s zone and check that it no longer appears there. Also check the zone’s display, as the indicators linked to this component may have been removed. To find the right zone before the operation or check its content afterwards, see the guide to viewing a zone.

Troubleshooting

• Trash icon missing: check that you are in the component’s detail, then have the administrator check your management rights. The view right alone does not give access to this action.
• A message appears or the page does not go back: do not immediately retry the deletion. Return to Building, By floor tab, and look for the component in the same zone. If it has already disappeared, do not start again.
