Create, edit or delete a Boss’nX Time Programming scenario

Boss’nX supervision: Time Programming editor, with the Edit scenarios permission
A Boss’nX Time Programming scenario combines a name, triggers (fixed time or sun), conditions and actions on the building’s components. Create it from New scenario, edit it with its pencil, and duplicate or delete it from its card.
For the administrator or installer who prepares the schedule. To only adjust times or values in Tuning mode, follow the times and conditions guide.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Your role has the Edit scenarios permission, usually granted to the administrator or the installer.
- The building, the components, the command datapoints and their expected values are identified.
- The consequences of the chosen times and actions are planned: saving can activate the schedule.
Create a scenario
Section titled “Create a scenario”- In the desired supervision, open Menu → Time programming. On a tablet or phone, Menu is at the right of the bottom bar.
- Click New scenario. When the list is empty, Create a scenario also opens the editor.
- In Scenario name, enter a distinct and recognizable name, for example “Lobby lighting morning”. As long as the name is empty or contains only spaces, Save stays disabled.
- Under WHEN — Triggers, click Add trigger, choose Fixed time, then fill in Time, for example 07:30. For a trigger linked to the sun, follow the times and conditions guide.
- Under IF — Conditions, add only the restrictions that are necessary and established for your need. Without a condition, no additional restriction applies, but the trigger is still required. To limit execution to certain days, first read the caveats and checks in the same guide.
- Under THEN — Actions, choose Component, then Datapoint, fill in Value and click Add action. Choose a command datapoint prepared for this use, not just any datapoint present in the list, with a suitable value. The actions guide explains values, delays and gateways.
- Check the Summary, then review each section: name, times, restrictions, components, datapoints, addresses, values and delays. A form that can be saved may still be incomplete or unsuitable.
- Click Save at the top right, then wait for Scenario created and the return to Time Programming.
The created scenario is enabled.
Edit an existing scenario
Section titled “Edit an existing scenario”- In Time Programming, find the card and click its pencil Edit scenario.
- Review the scenario before changing its name, triggers, conditions or actions. The small crosses to the right of the blocks remove the relevant elements from the current edit.
- Check the Summary and the detailed values, then click Save.
- Wait for Scenario updated.
Saving with edit permissions can re-enable a previously disabled scenario: check the final state in the list and disable it again if necessary.
If the Tuning mode banner appears, your account can adjust the existing values and times, but the name stays locked and additions or deletions are not available. The banner calls the full edit permission “Manage Scenarios”. Then follow the tuning procedure.
To leave the editor without saving, use the left arrow located before the title. Unsaved changes are lost: the editor offers no Cancel button and no guaranteed recovery of a draft. The arrow does not undo an operation already saved.
Duplicate a scenario
Section titled “Duplicate a scenario”On the card, the two-sheet button has the tooltip Duplicate. The copy is added disabled, under the original name followed by “(duplicate)”, and the message Scenario duplicated appears. It reuses the original’s references on the gateways.
Before enabling it, changing its targets or deleting a scenario linked to this copy, have its independent use confirmed by support. Do not use duplication as a backup or as an independent schedule on the gateways.
Delete a scenario
Section titled “Delete a scenario”- On the card, click the Delete trash can. The Delete scenario window opens.
- Read the message: it also announces the deletion of the associated items on the gateways. Take this consequence into account before confirming.
- Click Delete to confirm, or Cancel to keep the scenario.
- Wait for Scenario deleted.
No one-click restore is offered. Deletion does not return the devices to a previous state.
Check the result
Section titled “Check the result”- After a creation or an edit, find the card and reopen its pencil, tooltip Edit scenario, to review the saved information. Also check the activation state in the list.
- After a deletion, check that the card is absent with All and an empty search. The message and the disappearance of the card concern Boss’nX: have the actual cleanup of the gateways and the result on the installation checked when necessary.
- Then check the intended operation under the conditions of your installation: a successful save is not a successful physical command.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”In case of Failed to create scenario, Failed to update scenario or Failed to delete scenario, note the message and the context, then check what actually appears in the list before trying again. Failed to create scenario can also follow a duplication. Do not assume that a failure has automatically undone all the steps, and do not create several copies to work around it.
If the reviewed values do not match, a device does not respond or the state of a gateway remains uncertain, contact support@can-nx.com with the scenario name, the building, the expected result and the checks already made, without secret credentials.
