Boss’nX, building supervision: Building, By floor tab, Show filters panel

The filter panel of the Building page, By floor tab, narrows the display of the Boss’nX topology: search by zone or component name, choice between zones and root components, hidden floors and selected component types. The filters change the display of this page without modifying the building.

Intended for users, administrators and installers, in a standalone supervision or from a hypervision. To browse the parts, floors and zones, see the building topology.

  1. Open the building topology.
  2. Click Show filters, near the page title.
  3. In Search, enter a zone or component name. The field shows the hint Filter by name….
  4. Look at the remaining cards and sections. The search applies as you type, without a save button.

The search is approximate: it may retain names close to what you typed. When a zone name matches, its components may be retained as well. It covers names: to find a component by KNX address or by datapoint name, use the Components page filters.

Fictional example: enter “Meeting” to look for a zone with this word in its name. If too few results remain, clear the text before changing other settings.

Under Display, choose one of the three options:

OptionContent retained
AllZone cards and components attached directly to floors.
ZonesZone cards.
Root componentsComponents attached directly to a floor, without a zone. This option does not expand the components contained in each zone.

If Root components shows no card under some floors, return to All to find the zones again. The display selection combines with the search text, the types and the floor visibility.

  1. In Floor visibility, locate the button bearing the floor name.
  2. A blue button indicates a floor included in the display: click it to hide the floor.
  3. Click its button again to include it again.

Hiding a floor deletes neither the floor nor its content. The buttons list the floors offered in this panel; Zones directes groupings have no button there.

  1. In Component types, click the type or types you are looking for. Selected types turn blue, and several types can be retained together.
  2. Click a type again to remove it from the selection.

With no type selected, all types available in the view are retained. If the row is wider than the screen, scroll it horizontally.

A zone with no component matching the filters disappears from the topology. The building part counters follow this selection: they are then no longer a complete inventory of the site.

In the panel, click Reset, accompanied by a cross in a circle. This action clears the search, removes the type selection, shows the floors again and restores All.

To close the panel, click Show filters again. The filters remain applied to the current view: to return to the initial view, use Reset before closing the panel.

If No structure matches the current filters. appears:

  1. Click Reset in the filter panel.
  2. If the cards come back, apply one criterion at a time to identify the selection that is too restrictive.
  3. If the page remains empty, check the supervision context and have the items accessible to your account checked.

If the result remains unexpected after these checks, write to support@can-nx.com, specifying the building, the name searched, the filters used and the result after reset.
