--- title: "Chart’nX: KNX data visualization, metering and export" description: "Chart’nX visualizes KNX data: energy and water dashboards, KNX or Modbus meters, periods, phases and CSV export, from Emergy’nX or Boss’nX." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/produits/chartnx/ language: en --- # Chart’nX: KNX data visualization, metering and export Chart’nX is the Can’nX tool for KNX data visualization and analysis. Its dashboards, for energy or water, open from Emergy’nX or from Boss’nX. The guides cover viewing and exporting measurements, then configuring dashboards: KNX or Modbus meters, groups, calculations and address monitoring. ## Getting started - From Emergy’nX, open the **Chart'nX** section and choose the dashboard: **View** displays the charts, **Configure** opens its generator. **New dashboard** opens the generator on a new energy dashboard. See [open Chart’nX from Emergy’nX](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-open-emergy/). - From Boss’nX, open **Analyses**, then the **Chart'nX** tab, with the **View analytics** permission. This entry presents the existing dashboards, without a creation command. See [open Chart’nX from Boss’nX](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-open-boss/). ## Main tasks **View and export** - [Set the period and precision](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-period/), then [read the charts](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-read/) in the **Unified**, **Stacked**, **Curves** or **Per phase** presentation, depending on the panel. - [Read phase measurements](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-phases/) and [set the time zone, language, units and axes](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-display/). - [Export the data](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-export/) as an **Excel report**, a CSV suited to spreadsheets, or as **Raw data** for data processing. Several files are grouped in a ZIP archive. The export does not require switching to administration; [the format guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-export-format/) details the content of the files. **Configure an energy dashboard** From the generator opened in Emergy’nX: 1. [Fill in the general information](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-general/): name, contract power in kVA, single-phase or three-phase installation. 2. [Configure the main meters](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-meters/), then [the submeters](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-submeters/), [their groups](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-groups/) and [the total energy calculation](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-operations/). 3. [Preview and save the dashboard](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-save/). 4. If addresses remain to be monitored, [assign them to the monitoring gateways](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-monitoring/), with the project’s ETS file. **Monitor water** A water dashboard is configured with [its general information and the total meter](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-water-general/), then [its meter groups](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-water-groups/). **Integrate Modbus meters** The [Modbus catalog](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-modbus-catalog/) belongs to the project: a configuration can be used by several dashboards. [Create the Modbus gateway](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-modbus-gateway/), [declare the configuration](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-modbus-config/), [test the reading](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-modbus-test/), then [import it as a submeter](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-modbus-import/). ## Troubleshooting - [Viewing dashboards](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-faq/) and [CSV export](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-export-troubleshoot/). - [Meter configuration](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-meter-help/) and [address monitoring](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-monitoring-help/). - [Water dashboard](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-water-help/) and [Modbus catalog](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-modbus-faq/).
