--- title: "Sony TV KNX integration with Link’nX: commands and setup" description: "Control a Sony TV from Link’nX scenarios: declaration with PSK, volume, HDMI input, app launch and KNX rows to have validated before use." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/integrations/sony-tv/ language: en --- # Sony TV KNX integration with Link’nX: commands and setup With Link’nX, a Sony TV declared on the gateway can receive commands from a scenario: power on, power off, volume, sound, channels, HDMI input, app launch or playback. The gateway table also offers KNX rows for Sony, to be validated before activation. This page sums up the steps and the points to check for your model. ## What the Sony TV integration does | Need | Where to configure it | Guide | | --- | --- | --- | | Declare the TV with its IP address and PSK key | **Audio & Media → Sony TV** | [Declare a Sony or Samsung TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-devices/) | | Power on, power off, set the volume or change the input in a scenario | **Sony TV** actions | [Settings of a Sony TV action](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-sony-tv-actions/) | | Map commands and feedback to KNX addresses | **Gateway mode configuration** of the Sony TV row | [KNX commands and feedback of a TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-knx/) | ## Step-by-step commissioning 1. [Declare the TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-devices/) with a name, its IPv4 address and its **Pre-Shared Key (PSK)**, which is required. 2. [Prepare a Sony TV action](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-sony-tv-actions/): one or more TVs, a **Sony TV command** and its value when one is requested. 3. Add the action to a [saved scenario](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-scenario-save/): saving the action alone does not trigger it. 4. For a command from the bus, read the Sony part of the [TV KNX guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-knx/) and have the rows confirmed before activating them. ## Good to know - **Set volume** expects an integer from 0 to 100, 0 included. **Volume up** and **Volume down** ask for an integer value whose step must be confirmed. - **Set input** offers **HDMI 1** to **HDMI 4**; the presence of a choice does not prove that this port exists on your model. - **Launch app** expects the confirmed identifier or URI of the app, not its commercial name. - In the KNX table, the Sony rows offer in particular **Set volume** in DPT 5.010, **Set input** and **Launch app** in DPT 16.001, as well as the feedback **Power state**, **Volume level**, **Mute state** and **Current input**. Their DPTs may differ from Samsung’s. - The complete procedure, from commands to KNX mappings, must be confirmed for your version and model with support@can-nx.com.
