--- title: Samsung TV and KNX integration with Link’nX description: "Control a Samsung TV from KNX with Link’nX: power, volume, mute, channels, input, apps and status feedback, with step-by-step setup guides." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/integrations/samsung-tv/ language: en --- # Samsung TV and KNX integration with Link’nX With Link’nX, a Samsung TV is controlled from the KNX bus and from the installation’s scenarios: power, volume, mute, channels, playback, input, apps and keys. Its power state, volume level and mute state can be read back on the bus. The available functions vary depending on the model and its settings. ## What the Samsung TV integration does | Need | Where to configure it | Guide | | --- | --- | --- | | Switch the TV on or off from a KNX button | Gateway table, **Set power** row | [KNX commands and feedback of a TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-knx/) | | Set the volume, mute or change channel from the bus | Gateway table, **Actions** tab | [KNX commands and feedback of a TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-knx/) | | Read power, volume or mute back on the bus | Gateway table, second tab | [KNX commands and feedback of a TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-knx/) | | Set the input, set a channel, launch an app or send a key | **Samsung TV** action | [Control a Samsung TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-samsung-tv-actions/) | | Wake the TV over the network | **MAC address** in the declaration, then the **Power on** command | [Declare the TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-devices/) | ## Step-by-step commissioning 1. [Declare the TV](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-devices/) in **Audio & Media → Samsung TV**: name, IPv4 address and, for network wake-up, MAC address. 2. [Map its commands and feedback to KNX group addresses](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-tv-knx/). Save each tab before switching to another. 3. [Prepare the Samsung TV actions](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-samsung-tv-actions/), in particular for the commands missing from the KNX table, then [add them to a saved scenario](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-scenario-save/), started if needed by a [KNX trigger](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-trigger-knx/). 4. Test each command on the TV. If something goes wrong, the [Samsung actions guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-samsung-tv-actions/) covers network wake-up, volume setting with no effect and commands that get no response. ## Good to know - Have the model’s compatibility and its command authorizations confirmed. The **Pairing Token** is optional to save the declaration; the field help says it is retrieved after the first connection. - KNX commands use DPT 1.001 and the volume DPT 5.001 (0 to 100). For pulses (volume, channel, mute toggle, **Stop**), a release telegram 0 does not execute a second command. - **Set input**, **Set channel**, **Launch app** and **Send key** are prepared only as scenario actions. The **HDMI** choice does not designate a numbered port. - Absolute volume and mute control depend on support by the model, notably UPnP RenderingControl. - A **Power state** feedback of 0 may also mean that the TV is unreachable.
