--- title: "Pool’nX: send pool temperature, pH and statuses on the KNX bus" description: Map the pool’s water temperature, pH, ORP, pump and alerts to KNX group addresses in Pool’nX, one by one or with automatic address filling. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-knx-status/ language: en product: Pool’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "Can’nX Cloud, Pool’nX window: Pool Status table, KNX group addresses and DPTs" --- # Pool’nX: send pool temperature, pH and statuses on the KNX bus Context: Can’nX Cloud, Pool’nX window: Pool Status table, KNX group addresses and DPTs The **Pool Status** table of Pool’nX lists the measurements and states read on the Klereo or PoolCop controller: water temperature, pH, ORP, pump, auxiliaries, alerts. Each row ticked **Active** and given a group address is sent on the KNX bus, with the DPT shown, at every reading. Intended for the installer who integrates the pool into a KNX visualization, logic or supervision. To control the pool from KNX, follow [the KNX commands](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-knx-commands/). ## Before you start - The type of pool, the credentials and the pool are chosen: see [Klereo](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-klereo-connect/) or [PoolCop](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-poolcop-connect/). - In ETS, plan one group address per status, with the DPT of the **DPT** column. Pool’nX sets this DPT: it cannot be changed. ## Open the status table 1. In the **Pool'nX** window, next to **Pool Status**, click the double-arrow button. 2. The table shows **Name**, **Value**, **DPT**, **KNX Group Address** and **Active**. 3. Above it, **Live values** followed by a green dot indicates that the Pool’nX has sent its data. At the bottom, **Last update:** gives the time of the controller’s last reading. The list of statuses depends on the type of pool: see [the Klereo table](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-klereo-knx/) or [the PoolCop table](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-poolcop-knx/). ## Map addresses one by one 1. Find the status with **Search by name**, which filters on the displayed name. 2. In **KNX Group Address**, enter the address in X/Y/Z format, for example **5/1/0** (example). 3. Tick **Active**. 4. Repeat for each status to send. 5. Clear **Search by name** and, if you used it, click **Disable filter**. 6. Click **Save**. **Success!** confirms the save. Only the rows displayed when you click **Save** are saved: with an active filter, the addresses of the hidden rows are lost. **Filter active values** shows only the ticked rows; **Disable filter** shows the whole table again. ## Fill in addresses automatically 1. Remove the filters, then click **Auto-fill addresses**. 2. The **Please choose your start group address** window warns: **Warning: this operation will overwrite all your unsaved changes**. Enter the first address, for example **5/1/0** (example). 3. Click **Confirm**. Each displayed row receives the next address (**5/1/0**, **5/1/1**, **5/1/2**…) and is ticked **Active**. 4. Untick the statuses you don’t need, then click **Save**. The start address must stay within the ranges 0 to 31, 0 to 7 and 0 to 255; otherwise an error message appears and nothing is filled in. Choose it so that the last address does not exceed 255: a PoolCop Cloud table has more than 130 statuses. To clear everything, click **Clean all addresses**, then **Confirm** in the **Confirm your choice** window, and finally **Save**. Without saving, the configuration stays unchanged. ## When are statuses sent? Pool’nX reads the controller again and sends the active rows that have a value: - after each **Save** in a Pool’nX window; - at the **Automatic update** period, 10 minutes by default, and on request through the **Update via KNX** address: see [the options](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-options/); - after a command received from the KNX bus, once it has been passed on to the controller. The value sent is the controller’s value, with no unit conversion. With PoolCop Cloud, the units displayed are those of the PoolCop account: check that they match the unit expected by the DPT, for example °C for DPT 9.001. ## Check the result 1. Reopen the table: the addresses and the **Active** boxes are kept. 2. In ETS, open the group monitor and watch the telegrams on the addresses after a **Save**. 3. To create the addresses in the ETS project, use [the ETS export](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-knx-ets-export/). ## Troubleshooting | Symptom | Cause and action | | --- | --- | | Addresses disappeared after **Save** | A filter was hiding rows. Enter them again, remove the filters, then save. | | **Live values** followed by **disabled** | No data received from the Pool’nX. Check that a pool is chosen and that the gateway is **Online**. | | Value displayed but no telegram | Row not ticked **Active**, address missing or not saved. Sending happens at the next reading. | | Inconsistent value in the KNX visualization | The KNX object does not have the DPT of the **DPT** column, or the PoolCop account unit differs from the one expected. | See also [Pool’nX troubleshooting](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/pool-help/).
