--- title: "UniFi Access action in Link’nX: unlock, lock rules and emergency" description: "Unlock a UniFi Access door from a Link’nX scenario: momentary unlock, lock rule from 1 to 480 minutes, back to schedule, evacuation or lockdown." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-unifi-access-actions/ language: en product: Link’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "Link’nX web: Actions, UniFi Access type, door declared in the project and gateway" --- # UniFi Access action in Link’nX: unlock, lock rules and emergency Context: Link’nX web: Actions, UniFi Access type, door declared in the project and gateway A UniFi Access action controls a door declared in Link’nX: momentary unlock, lock rule (keep locked or unlocked, unlock for N minutes, back to schedule) or emergency state of the controller. It runs in the scenario you add it to. Intended for administrators and installers, once the door is [declared in Link’nX](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-unifi-devices/) in the relevant project and gateway. For the KNX bus, the [UniFi Access gateway table](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-unifi-access-events-knx/) only offers **Unlock (momentary)** and **Keep unlocked**: rules with a duration and the emergency are configured in the Actions form described here. ## Create the action 1. Open **Actions → Add**, then select **UniFi Access**. 2. Fill in **Name**, required, for example `Fictitious thirty-minute unlock`. 3. Select the **UniFi Access door**. 4. In **UniFi Access action**, choose the command and its settings, described below. 5. Click the floppy disk at the bottom right and wait for **Success!**. The action appears in the list. 6. Add it to the intended scenario and save that scenario, as described in the [scenario guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-scenario-save/). ## Choose the command and its settings **Unlock (momentary)** requests a temporary unlock. Its duration depends on the Access controller: no duration field is offered for this command. **Lock rule** displays a second list with the same name: | Rule | Requested effect | | --- | --- | | **Keep locked** | Keep the door locked until the rule is reset | | **Keep unlocked** | Keep the door unlocked until the rule is reset | | **Unlock for N minutes** | Unlock for the duration entered, then return to the schedule | | **Reset (back to schedule)** | Cancel the rule and return to the door’s schedule | | **Re-lock early** | Lock now without waiting for the end of the schedule | For **Unlock for N minutes**, fill in **Duration (minutes)** with a whole number from **1 to 480**, for example `30`. An empty duration, `0`, `480.5` or a value greater than `480` is rejected. The other rules do not use a duration. After a rule change, review the settings shown. If the door’s schedule provides for an unlocked period at that time, returning to the schedule does not lock it immediately. ## Trigger an emergency: evacuation or lockdown **Emergency** displays two checkboxes, **Evacuation** and **Lockdown**. This command applies to **all doors of the selected Access controller**, even though the form makes you choose a door. **Evacuation** requests that they be unlocked; **Lockdown** requests that they be locked. Have this path and the return to normal validated by the person responsible for the installation before adding the action to a scenario. The priority applied when both boxes are checked and the effect on the other rules remain to be confirmed for the installed version: contact support before relying on them. Do not use **Emergency** to test a door during troubleshooting. ## Edit the action or cancel a rule To edit or duplicate the action, use the [action editor](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-action-edit/): check **Name**, **UniFi Access door** and the command, then save. Deleting a saved action leaves in place a rule already applied to the controller. To return to the schedule, configure and run a **Reset (back to schedule)** action in the authorized context. ## Check the result 1. Reopen the action from the list and review the door, the command and its settings. 2. Check that the action is in the right scenario and that the scenario is saved. 3. Have the scenario run under the conditions set by the person responsible for the installation, then watch the door. **Success!** confirms that the action is saved, not that an unlock took place. ## Troubleshooting | Symptom or message | Action | | --- | --- | | **The duration must be a whole number of minutes between 1 and 480** or **Please enter a duration in whole minutes between 1 and 480** | Enter a whole number from 1 to 480 with the **Unlock for N minutes** rule | | **Please select a lock rule** | Choose a rule in the second list | | The **Duration (minutes)** field does not appear | Choose the **Unlock for N minutes** rule: the momentary unlock has no duration | | The action is saved, but the door does not move | Check the declared door, then that the action is used by the right scenario and that this scenario has been triggered | If the declaration and the scenario have already been checked, write to support@can-nx.com with the requested command, the door concerned, the time, the observed result and the tests carried out. Do not attach any token, access code or occupant data. French labels: **Action UniFi Access**, **Déverrouiller (momentané)**, **Règle de verrouillage**, **Déverrouiller pendant N minutes**, **Durée (minutes)** and **Réinitialiser (retour au planning)**. In the KNX gateway table, **Keep unlocked** is labelled **Maintenir déverrouillé** in French.
