--- title: "Start a Link’nX scenario at a set time: Timed trigger" description: "Schedule a Link’nX scenario start at a set time with the Timed trigger: time in 24-hour format, time zone and day conditions added in the scenario." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-trigger-time/ language: en product: Link’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "Link’nX web: Timed trigger, Schedule group of the type list" --- # Start a Link’nX scenario at a set time: Timed trigger Context: Link’nX web: Timed trigger, Schedule group of the type list The **Timed** trigger in Link’nX requests a scenario start at a given time, in the chosen time zone. Restrictions on days, dates or other criteria are then chosen as [scenario conditions](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-condition-edit/). Intended for administrators and installers who know the expected time and time zone for the installation. ## Create the Timed trigger 1. In **Triggers**, click **Add**, then select **Timed** in **Select a trigger type**, **Schedule** group. For an existing trigger, open its name or its pencil. 2. Fill in **Name**, required and limited to 64 characters. Fictitious example: “Reception start 08:30”. 3. Click in **Time**. Although its hint in the French interface mentions a “sélecteur de date” (date picker), this field opens the time selection. Select the hours, then the minutes on the dial and confirm with **OK**. **CANCEL** closes this choice without confirming it. 4. Check the result in 24-hour format, for example **08:30**. Use a time from **00:00** to **23:59**: input precision is to the minute. 5. In **Timezone**, type part of the country or zone name, then select a suggestion. Fictitious example for an installation in mainland France: **France, Europe/Paris**. The field keeps **Europe/Paris**. Choose the time zone planned for the installation, without relying only on that of your computer. 6. Click the floppy disk at the bottom right, then follow the [creation or edit confirmations](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-trigger-edit/). ## Add the trigger to the scenario 1. In the relevant scenario, select this trigger in **Triggers**, as described in the [scenario composition guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-compose-scenario/). 2. Add any necessary conditions, then save the scenario. 3. Also check [the scenario’s activation](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-run/). The delay between two scenario actions is set separately, in the **Wait** cards of the [action sequence](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-scenario-sequence/): it is not the trigger’s **Time** field. ## Check the result Reopen the trigger to check the saved time and time zone. After the scheduled time, see [the history](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-history/), taking the action delays into account. A successful manual launch does not verify the time schedule: wait for a start at the planned time. ## Troubleshooting | Message or symptom | Action | | --- | --- | | **Issue with the field 'Time'. It requires a value.** | Reopen the picker and confirm a time | | No zone offered in **Timezone** | Clear the search, then search for the name of the country or city in the form offered by the list | | Expected time zone not found | Contact support instead of entering an approximate value | | The scenario does not start at the expected time | Check in this order: the time and time zone of the saved trigger, its presence in the scenario, the activation switch and the selected conditions, then the history | Do not compensate for an unexplained offset by changing several times in succession. For an offset schedule, an installation spread over several time zones or the behavior at the seasonal clock change, contact support@can-nx.com with the expected time, the chosen time zone, the date, the scenario and the observed result.
