# Share access to a Link’nX project: copy the share link

Context: Link’nX web: share icon in the header, for the current project and gateway

The share icon in the Link’nX header copies to the clipboard a link that gives access to the current project and gateway, until the validity date shown. The link carries the access of your session: share it only with the authorized recipient, through an appropriate channel, and do not publish it in an open space.

Intended for administrators and installers authorized to give access to the Link’nX context concerned.

## Copy the link

1. In Link’nX, check the project and the gateway shown at the top of the page, as described in the [Link’nX access guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-access/).
2. To the right of this header, locate the share icon, shown as three connected dots. Its tooltip starts with **Share.** and shows a date after **It will be valid until:**.
3. Click the icon. The message **URL copied. It will be valid until:** repeats the date shown.
4. Paste the link into a message intended only for the authorized person, and check the recipient before sending.

## Check the result

The copy message appears on every click on the icon, even if the copy failed. To confirm it, paste the clipboard content and check that it does contain a link.

## Troubleshooting

- The copy provides no link: check that your session is open on the right context and that the browser allows copying to the clipboard.
- The access received does not work or has expired: ask the person in charge of the project for new access.

If you need access with specific rights, a revocation or a confirmation of validity and this information is not available, contact support@can-nx.com with the product, the project and the need. Do not attach the full link containing the access.
