# Move one or more scenarios to a Link’nX folder

Context: Link’nX web: Scenarios list and folders, some windows in English only

In **Scenarios**, each scenario is filed in a folder or under **Uncategorized**. To change this filing, Link’nX offers three methods: a scenario’s menu, a selection made in the list, or a window that presents all the scenarios of the context. Moving changes the filing without requesting any execution of the scenarios.

Intended for administrators and installers.

## Before you start

- The project and gateway are checked, as described in the [Link’nX access guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-access/).
- The destination folder exists. Otherwise, create it with [New folder](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-folders/).

## Move a single scenario

1. [Find its row](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-lists/), open the three vertical dots menu on the right, then choose **Move to folder**.
2. The **Move "scenario name"** window opens; it keeps its English labels. In **Target folder**, choose the folder, or **Uncategorized** to remove the filing.
3. Click **Move**, or **Cancel** to give up. Wait for **Updated!**.

## Move a selection of scenarios

1. At the top of **Scenarios**, click **Select**, then check the rows you want. A selection can remain held even if a filter hides its rows: clear the filters and review your choices.
2. In the bottom bar, click **Transfer to folder**. At least one scenario must be selected.
3. In **Transfer scenarios**, check the **Selected scenarios** list. Choose the **Destination folder**, or **Uncategorized**.
4. Click **Transfer**. The button remains unavailable until a destination is chosen. **Cancel** closes the window without moving the selection.
5. Wait for the success confirmation: selection mode closes. To abandon only the selection, use **Cancel Selection** in the list.

## Organize the scenarios of the whole context

1. In the filter area of **Scenarios**, click **Transfer scenarios**. The **Organize scenarios** window opens with its folders collapsed.
2. Expand the folders with their chevron and check the scenarios to move. This window presents all the scenarios of the context: the search made in the starting list does not limit this selection.
3. **Select all** keeps the whole set offered, including collapsed groups; **Deselect all** clears the selection. Review the number and the names before continuing.
4. Under **Move to folder**, choose the destination folder card. **Uncategorized** is selected initially: change this choice to target a specific folder. The destination is repeated at the bottom of the window.
5. Click **Transfer scenarios (N)**, where N is the number of scenarios selected, then wait for **Updated!**. **Cancel** keeps the previous filing.

## Check the result

Find the scenarios in their destination folder. If the list filter is still on the original folder, choose the new folder or **All**.

A confirmed transfer is saved: closing the interface does not undo it. To return to the previous filing, move the scenarios again to the desired folder.

## Troubleshooting

If nothing seems to have moved, first check the list filters and the destination actually chosen, especially **Uncategorized**.

If an error appears or the filing is still wrong after these checks, contact support@can-nx.com with the scenarios concerned, the starting folder, the destination, the message and the steps tried. Do not send any private access link.
