The XML export of the group addresses: the **Upload a file** picker offers the XML format. The help on this page illustrates this export from ETS 5; follow the [ETS file guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-knx-file/). For another ETS version or another format, contact support. ## Why does the ETS file upload fail? First check the chosen file: it must be the XML export of the addresses of the right project, not empty, 1 MB maximum. If **File is empty**, **File is too large** or **File is not valid** is displayed, apply the matching action from the ETS file guide. Do not repeat the upload without a relevant change. If these checks have already been made, send support the ETS version, the format, the size and the message. ## Why is an address missing when the file is uploaded? The address may be absent from the file or unchecked in the filter. In **KNX Configuration**, check **Name** and the context. Open **Filter**, clear the search, then expand the group of the address you are looking for: - if the address is present, check its box in the saved selection; - if it is absent, check that the chosen file matches the right project, then contact support for the next steps. Do not change the addresses of the automations to make them match a file you are not sure of. ## Why does a search by name return nothing in the filter? The [ETS filter search](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-knx-filter/) applies to the address, not the name. Type an address or its levels, for example **1/2** (fictitious example). The search does not uncheck hidden items: clear it before checking the whole selection. ## Why does the generator offer fewer addresses than expected? A non-empty ETS filter can limit this list. Check the selection with **KNX**, then **Filter**, and follow the [action generator guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-action-generate/). If the addresses remain inconsistent with the verified file and selection, contact support. ## Can I re-upload the JSON file downloaded with the downward arrow? No, not through **Upload a file**. **Download the filtered ETS configuration** provides a JSON copy of the selection, whereas the upload expects the XML export of the addresses. To restore a selection from a JSON or transfer it to another context, contact support and describe the result you want. ## Can I delete the ETS file without consequences for the automations? Contact support before removing a file used by an existing installation, to establish the consequences and the appropriate procedure. Do not rely on deletion to reset the commands, restore a physical state or automatically preserve all configuration links. ## Contact support Write to support@can-nx.com with: Link’nX, the project and gateway, the intended operation, the name and format of the file, the message displayed and the checks already made.
