--- title: "Daikin and KNX: map commands and feedback to group addresses" description: "Control a Daikin air conditioner from the KNX bus with Link’nX: mode, setpoint, fan and status feedback, with the DPT and codes for each group address." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-daikin-knx/ language: en product: Link’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "Link’nX web: KNX gateway table of a declared Daikin device" --- # Daikin and KNX: map commands and feedback to group addresses Context: Link’nX web: KNX gateway table of a declared Daikin device The Daikin gateway table in Link’nX maps the group addresses of your KNX project to the commands of a Daikin air conditioning unit (on/off, mode, setpoint, fan, slats, special modes) and to its statuses and measurements (current mode, temperatures, humidity). A KNX push button can then control the unit directly, without going through a scenario. Intended for installers and administrators who have the project’s group addresses. To control the unit from a scenario, use [the Daikin actions](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-daikin-actions/) instead. ## Before you start - The Daikin device is [declared in Link’nX](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-dga-devices/). - The group addresses and their DPTs are defined in the KNX project (see the tables below). ## Open the unit’s gateway table Check the project, the gateway and the row of the device. In **Devices → Climate & Energy → Daikin**, click the two opposing arrows on the row, before the pencil. **Gateway mode configuration** opens. The table applies to this device only. The names and DPTs in this table cannot be edited. To deactivate an association, untick **Active**, then save. The [gateway table guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-gateway-table/) specifies the address format, the filters and automatic filling. ## Map the KNX commands 1. In **Actions**, choose the functions needed using the table below. 2. Fill in their **Address**, then tick **Active**. 3. Click the floppy disk at the bottom right. Wait for **Succès** (Success) with **Données sauvegardées avec succès !** (Data saved successfully!). | Function in the gateway | DPT | Value | | --- | --- | --- | | **Toggle** | **1.001** | 1: On; 0: Off. | | **Turn on**, **Turn off** | **1.001** | Named commands; have the configuration of the associated KNX button confirmed before assuming that a 0 telegram cancels the command. | | **Set mode** | **20.105** | 0: Auto; 1: Heat; 3: Cool; 6: Off; 9: Fan; 14: Dehumidification. | | **Set temperature setpoint** | **9.001** | °C, from 10 to 32, to the half degree. | | **Set fan speed** | **5.010** | 0: Auto; 1 to 5: speeds 1 to 5; 6: Silent. | | **Set slats direction** | **5.010** | 0: Off; 1: Vertical; 2: Horizontal; 3: Both. | | **Powerful mode**, **Econo mode**, **Streamer air purifier**, **Holiday mode**, **Comfort mode**, **Outdoor unit quiet mode** | **1.001** | 1: enable; 0: disable the mode concerned, depending on model and generation. | A mode change can turn the unit back on; **6** in Set mode requests that it stop. The KNX mode codes are not the choices of the **Actions** form: use this table for KNX and [the Daikin action labels](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-daikin-actions/) in a scenario. ## Map the statuses and measurements 1. Open the **second tab**, with the message bubble icon. 2. Fill in the address of the rows you want and tick **Active**. 3. Save this tab too. Save each tab before leaving it. | Feedback | DPT and interpretation | | --- | --- | | **Power state** | **1.001**, on or off state. | | **Current mode** | **20.105**, same mode codes; a unit that is off is reported as **6**, regardless of its stored mode. | | **Temperature setpoint** | **9.001**, requested temperature when available. | | **Fan speed**, **Slats direction** | **5.010**, same tables as the corresponding commands. | | **Indoor temperature**, **Outdoor temperature** | **9.001**, measured temperatures in °C. | | **Indoor humidity** | **9.007**, relative humidity in %. | | **Powerful mode**, **Econo mode**, **Streamer air purifier**, **Holiday mode**, **Comfort mode**, **Outdoor unit quiet mode** | **1.001**, status of the mode concerned when available. | A missing or unmeasured point does not necessarily produce a value: **no feedback does not mean zero**. Outdoor temperature and indoor humidity depend on the model. The setpoint might not be exposed in Fan or Dehumidification mode. Streamer and Holiday concern classic adapters; Comfort and Outdoor quiet concern the generation running firmware 2.8.0 or later. Refer to the [special mode variants](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-daikin-actions/). ## Check the result 1. Go back to the list and reopen the gateway to review the addresses and the **Active** boxes of each tab. 2. Send each command from the bus, for example with a push button or the ETS group monitor, and watch the unit. 3. Compare the feedback received on the bus with the actual state of the unit. ## Troubleshooting | Symptom | Cause or action | | --- | --- | | **Current mode** is 6 | It is not Fan: 6 corresponds to Off in this KNX table. Fan is 9. | | The humidity feedback is empty | First check whether the unit measures this quantity, without replacing its absence with 0%. Then check the row, its address, its DPT, **Active** and its save. | | A function or a row has disappeared | Clear **Type to filter...** and untick **Show only active**. Check the tab and the declaration. | If the configuration has been reviewed and the feedback or the command still has no result, contact support@can-nx.com with the context, the model, the function name, the address, the DPT, any value and the tests already done. For an unconfirmed function or generation, support specifies compatibility before any other change. French labels: **Définir le mode**, **Définir la consigne de température**, **Définir la vitesse de ventilation**, **Définir l'orientation des volets**, **Mode actuel**, **Température intérieure**, **Humidité intérieure**.
