--- title: "Daikin actions: control air conditioning from a Link’nX scenario" description: "Create a Daikin action in Link’nX: on/off, mode, setpoint from 10 to 32 °C, fan speed, slats and special modes depending on the BRP069 adapter." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-daikin-actions/ language: en product: Link’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "Link’nX web: Actions form, Daikin type, for a declared Daikin device" --- # Daikin actions: control air conditioning from a Link’nX scenario Context: Link’nX web: Actions form, Daikin type, for a declared Daikin device A Daikin action in Link’nX sends a command to one or more declared Daikin air conditioning units: on/off, mode, temperature setpoint, fan speed, slats direction or special mode. Added to a scenario, it becomes a step in your automations. Intended for administrators and installers. To control the unit directly from the KNX bus, use the [Daikin KNX commands and feedback](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-daikin-knx/) instead. ## Before you start - The Daikin device is [declared](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-dga-devices/) in the project and gateway concerned. - You know the adapter and the model of the unit. The availability of functions depends on them: not every command offered in the form is supported by every model. ## Create the Daikin action 1. Open **Actions → Add**, then choose **Daikin** in **Select an action type**. 2. Enter **Name**, required, 64 characters maximum and not only spaces. 3. In **Daikin device**, select one or more declared devices. **Select all** acts on all the devices offered: review the targets before continuing. 4. In **Daikin command**, choose the command, then fill in its parameter when it appears. | Command in Actions | Parameter | | --- | --- | | **Toggle** | **State**: **Enabled** or **Disabled**. This choice requests a specific state; it does not automatically invert the current state. | | **Turn on**, **Turn off** | No parameter. Turn on resumes the last mode; Turn off stops the unit without changing its stored mode. | | **Mode selection** | **Mode**: Auto, Heat, Cool, Fan or Dehumidification. | | **Temperature setpoint** | **Temperature**: from **10 to 32 °C**, in steps of **0.5**. | | **Fan speed** | **Speed**: Auto, Speed 1 to Speed 5, or Silent. | | **Slats direction** | **Direction**: Off, Vertical, Horizontal or Both. | | **Powerful mode**, **Econo mode**, **Streamer air purifier**, **Holiday mode**, **Comfort mode**, **Outdoor unit quiet mode** | **State**: Enabled or Disabled, depending on the functions available on the device. | 5. Click the round floppy disk at the bottom right. Wait for **Success!**, then find the action in the list. 6. To use it in an automation, [add it to the scenario concerned](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-compose-scenario/). A temperature outside 10 to 32 °C is refused in this form; a fictitious setpoint of 22.5 °C respects the range and the step. Choose modes and speeds by their labels: the numeric values from the KNX table are not entered in their place. A mode change can turn the unit back on; to stop it, use **Turn off**. ## Choose a special mode according to the adapter | Mode | Adapters and models | Rules | | --- | --- | --- | | **Powerful mode** | Depending on the model | The unit must be on and the function supported. Enabling it excludes Econo mode and, where they exist, Comfort mode and Outdoor unit quiet mode. Disabling it is not a general stop command for the unit. | | **Econo mode** | Depending on the model | Mutually exclusive with Powerful mode. | | **Streamer air purifier**, **Holiday mode** | Classic BRP069 adapters | Not available through this integration on adapters running firmware 2.8.0 or later. On classic adapters, an active Holiday mode locks the other special modes: to adjust them again, check this mode and disable it first if that matches your need. | | **Comfort mode**, **Outdoor unit quiet mode** | Generation running firmware 2.8.0 or later, depending on the model’s functions | Do not apply to classic BRP069 adapters. | If the generation, the model or a function remains uncertain, contact support. Do not change the firmware to make a command appear without an appropriate procedure. ## Edit a Daikin action 1. Open the name or the pencil of the action. 2. Check the targets, the command and its value. After a command change, the value is cleared: choose the new command’s parameter again. A temperature cannot be used as a mode or a speed. 3. Save with the floppy disk. If affected scenarios are displayed, review their names, then click **SAVE**, or **CANCEL**. 4. Wait for **Updated!**. The [common actions guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-action-edit/) describes duplication and unsaved changes. ## Check the result Saving the action does not run it and does not confirm an actual temperature. For a test, [run the action or the scenario](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-run/), then watch the unit. To check the setpoint and the measured indoor temperature, use the [Daikin feedback](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-daikin-knx/) and keep these two values apart. ## Troubleshooting - **Disabled** is not a missing value: select it explicitly to turn off the chosen mode. This choice is accepted; an empty field is not. - No temperature in Fan or Dehumidification mode: the setpoint is not necessarily exposed in these modes. - The test has no effect: if you only saved, the action has not been run. Otherwise, check the target, the command chosen and the availability of this function; for Powerful, also check that the unit is on. A lack of response does not allow you to conclude that the device is faulty. If these tests have already failed, contact support@can-nx.com with the context, the model, the command, the value and the checks done. French labels: **Appareil Daikin**, **Commande Daikin**, **Sélection du mode**, **Consigne de température**, **Vitesse de ventilation**, **Orientation des volets**, **Activé**, **Désactivé**.
