--- title: "ETS and Crestron: export the CI-KNX device report as CSV" description: Export from ETS the CSV report of the CI-KNX device, objects included, then check IP and port in Crestron before declaring the configuration in Link’nX. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-crestron-export/ language: en product: Link’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "ETS and Link’nX web: export help of the Add with file mode in Crestron" --- # ETS and Crestron: export the CI-KNX device report as CSV Context: ETS and Link’nX web: export help of the Add with file mode in Crestron To declare a Crestron configuration with a file in Link’nX, export from ETS the report of the CI-KNX device, objects included, in CSV format. This procedure follows the help offered in **Crestron**, after **Add with file**, via **How to export a configuration from ETS?**. Intended for installers who have the ETS project and its CI-KNX device. To populate the list of KNX addresses in Link’nX, use the [XML export of group addresses](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-knx-file/) instead. ## Before you start - The Link’nX help contains four steps: **Open report**, **Export Configuration**, **Save as CSV** and **Check IP address**. The **Previous** and **Next** arrows let you browse them; **Close** closes the help. Closing this help does not save your declaration. - If your ETS version shows other menus or if the expected device is missing, contact support before choosing another export. ## Export the device report from ETS 1. In ETS, open **Panel**, then **All panels** if necessary, then **Reports**. 2. In the reports, select **Single device**. In **Topology** or **Building**, select the CI-KNX device concerned. 3. In the report bar, under **Include**, enable **Objects**. Check that the report concerns the right device, then click **Export**. 4. In the save window, choose the type **CSV files (*.csv)**, fill in **File name**, then click **Save**. **Cancel** abandons this save. ## Check the IP address and port in the Crestron programming Check in the Crestron programming that the destination address is that of Link’nX and that the port matches the planned configuration. If the program contains several CI-KNX, each one targets the IP address of Link’nX with a different port. The help illustrates the **IP Net Address** field of the **TCP/IP Client** and the **Port** field of this client. Use the values of your installation: those of the illustration are not to be copied. ## Upload the file to Link’nX Return to the Link’nX form and continue with [Add a Crestron configuration](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/link-crestron-create/) to choose the file and save the declaration. ## Check the result Once chosen in the Crestron form, the .csv file is shown without a rejection indication. After the floppy disk and **Success!**, its name appears in the **File** column of the **Crestron** list. ## Troubleshooting - **Bad file format. File must be .csv**: check the export type and the chosen file. The expected file is the CSV report of the device; renaming an XML file to CSV does not prepare this report. - Do not change the content of the report at random. If your genuine CSV export is still rejected, contact support@can-nx.com with the ETS version, the browser and the message. Do not send a complete project containing sensitive data.
