--- title: "EV charger (IRVE) in Emergy’nX: model, connection and optimization" description: "Configure an EVlink Pro AC, Terra AC, LEKTRI.CO or KNX charger in Emergy’nX: intensities, IP address, Modbus, off-peak hours, solar surplus and rank." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-evcp-config/ language: en product: Emergy’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "Emergy’nX: EVCP (EV Charger) equipment, General tab and optimization options" --- # EV charger (IRVE) in Emergy’nX: model, connection and optimization Context: Emergy’nX: EVCP (EV Charger) equipment, General tab and optimization options Emergy’nX supports electric vehicle chargers (IRVE in French) of the EVlink Pro AC, Terra AC and LEKTRI.CO models, as well as other chargers linked through their KNX links. You declare the charger as equipment, fill in its intensity limits and its connection, then choose the optimization options: off-peak hours, solar surplus, charging rank between chargers. Intended for the installer or administrator in charge of the project. To simply follow charging, use the [IRVE dashboard](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-irve/). ## Before you start Prepare: - the exact charger model; - its electrical characteristics and its intensity limits; - the connection parameters validated for the installation. ## Create or edit the charger 1. Open **Equipment → Add Equipment**. For an existing charger, use its **Edit** pencil. 2. When creating it, in **General**, choose **Equipment Type → EVCP (EV Charger)**. 3. Choose the **EVCP Type** that actually matches the charger: **EVlink Pro AC**, **Terra AC**, **LEKTRI.CO** or **Other**. 4. Fill in the **Name**, the **Phase type** and the **Max Power (kW)**. **Average operating power (kW)** is optional; if you fill it in, it must be strictly positive. 5. Fill in **Minimum Intensity (A)** and **Maximum Intensity (A)**. Both fields are required and accept values from 6 A. This form limit does not define the range suited to your hardware: use the validated limits and check that the minimum does not exceed the maximum. 6. Complete the connection and the optimization options described below. 7. Click **Save** and wait for **Configuration saved successfully** and the return to the list. ## Fill in the connection for the model | EVCP type | Parameters and sections | | --- | --- | | **LEKTRI.CO** | **IP Address** required. Monitoring and control are managed by the integration. | | **EVlink Pro AC** | **IP Address** required. Monitoring and control are managed by the integration; this form has no port or slave ID field. | | **Terra AC** | **IP Address** required; **Modbus port** and **Modbus slave ID**. The initial values are 502 and 1: check that they match the actual configuration. The port must be an integer from 1 to 65,535 and the ID an integer from 1 to 247. Monitoring and control are managed by the integration. | | **Other** | Configure the planned [KNX links](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-equipment-knx/). **Monitoring** offers **Active Power**, **Intensity** and **Vehicle Connection Status**; **Control** offers the command and feedback addresses. | For integrated models, the **Monitoring** and **Control** tabs can still be viewed and explain the automatic handling: readings provided by the charger’s HTTP API for LEKTRI.CO, active power read over Modbus TCP for Terra AC and EVlink Pro AC, with no KNX address to fill in. **Managed by integration** concerns the configuration of these sections; the physical connection is checked on the **IRVE** dashboard. Changing the **EVCP Type** may remove parameters that no longer apply, in particular the KNX links when switching to an integrated charger. Choose the model first, then recheck all the fields before saving. Do not change the model only to make a field accessible. ## Choose the optimization options In **General → Optimization**, check **Managed** to hand the charger’s power allocation to the optimization system and show its options: | Option | Effect | | --- | --- | | **Overload protection** | Always active, shown for information: charging power is automatically reduced when the installation approaches its subscription limit. | | **Balancing between chargers** | Always active, shown for information: the available power is distributed between chargers according to their charging rank. | | **Charge anytime** | Allows charging regardless of the tariff, within the power available under the subscription. Exception stated in the help: on Tempo red days, charging stays cut. Without this option, the charger only uses the sources checked (off-peak hours, solar surplus). | | **Off-Peak Hours** | Favors charging during the corresponding periods. | | **Solar optimization** | Uses surplus solar production. When checked, it shows **Priority**: **High priority** places this charger before the optimization steps of the other equipment; **Low priority** uses the surplus remaining after these steps. | | **Charging rank** | Distribution between chargers: the lowest ranks are served first, equal ranks share the available power. Enter an integer from 1 upward. | **Overload protection** and **Balancing between chargers** are information, not boxes to uncheck. **Charging rank** is separate from **Priority**, which concerns the use of solar surplus relative to the other equipment. These options do not on their own determine the tariff periods or the power actually available to the building. If the observed behavior does not meet the need, have the project parameters confirmed, then save and review the values. For other equipment, see [the project’s tariff rules](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-tariff-control/) and the [power thresholds](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-energy-thresholds/). ## Check the result 1. Reopen the charger from **Equipment** and review the saved values. 2. Then open **IRVE** to check the expected data: that is where an actual connection and the start of a charging session can be seen. ## Troubleshooting | Symptom | Check | | --- | --- | | **Priority** does not appear | Check **Managed**, then **Solar optimization**: the priority choice appears with this last option. | | **Monitoring** or **Control** locked | Check the **EVCP Type**. For LEKTRI.CO, Terra AC and EVlink Pro AC, these sections are handled by the integration; this lock comes from the chosen model and alone does not indicate a permissions or license problem. | | Saving fails | Check the name, the power, both intensities, the IP address for integrated models and the Modbus parameters for Terra AC. Possible messages: **Minimum intensity must be greater than or equal to 6 A**, **Charging rank must be a whole number greater than or equal to 1**. Correct the flagged sections, then follow the [save troubleshooting](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-equipment-create/). | | The charger is saved but stays inactive | Follow the [IRVE dashboard checks](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-irve/). Do not change the electrical limits to make the symptom disappear. | If these checks do not succeed, contact support@can-nx.com specifying the model, the project, the displayed status, the options chosen and the attempts already made. French labels: **Équipements → Ajouter un équipement → Général → Type d'équipement → IRVE (Borne de recharge)**, then **Type d'IRVE**, **Adresse IP**, **Intensité minimale (A)** and **Intensité maximale (A)**. Optimization uses **Gestion automatique**, **Heures creuses**, **Optimisation solaire**, **Charge à tout moment**, **Rang de charge**, then **Sauvegarder**.
