--- title: Send a custom value to Emergy’nX equipment with the Custom button description: Send a setpoint, percentage, scene number or charging current in amperes to KNX equipment or a charger from Emergy’nX, then check that the device reacts. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-custom/ language: en product: Emergy’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Emergy’nX: Custom button on an equipment card, Equip. panel of the Dashboard, real project" --- # Send a custom value to Emergy’nX equipment with the Custom button Context: Emergy’nX: Custom button on an equipment card, Equip. panel of the Dashboard, real project The **Custom** button on an Emergy’nX equipment card sends a precise value to the device: a 0 or 1 choice, a percentage, a setpoint with unit, a scene number, a mode or a charging current in amperes. The form adapts to the DPT of the command configured for the equipment. Intended for people authorized to control the equipment. For a forced stop or forced run, use [the Auto, OFF and ON modes](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-control/) instead. ## Before you start - You are in the real project: in the demo, no command is sent to your installation. - The expected value and its unit have been validated for the device by the person responsible for the installation. ## Open the Custom window 1. Check the project, then open **Dashboard → Equip.**. On a phone, Equip. may show only four squares. 2. Find the card by the device name. 3. To the right of **Auto**, **OFF** and **ON**, click **Custom**. If a custom value already exists, this button may show that value or its name instead of Custom. 4. In the window, check the equipment name above **Custom value**. To the right of this title is the DPT of the command, or **Amperes** for a charging station. ## Enter the value The form varies according to the equipment’s configuration: | Presentation | Entry | | --- | --- | | Two buttons **0** and **1** | Click the choice that matches the expected action; its name may be customized. | | Percentage | Move the slider between **0 and 100%**, or use a suggested value, then reread the percentage. | | Number with unit | Enter the expected number and check the displayed unit. Fictitious example: **21.5 °C**, only if the field corresponds to this temperature. | | Scene number, with **/63** | Enter the known whole number between **0 and 63**. Do not infer a correspondence with another screen that is numbered differently. | | Named choices with numbers | Click the desired mode. The labels may have been customized for the equipment. | | **Amperes** | Move the slider within the displayed range or choose a suggested value in A. Use the setpoint suited to the charger and the installation. | A value may be present as soon as the window opens: the current custom value, or a starting value (0 for a percentage or a scene, the minimum current for a charging station). Reread it: this prefilled value is not a recommended setting for your installation. ## Send or cancel 1. Click **Send** when the equipment, the value and the unit are correct. On a computer, **Enter** also sends a valid value: press this key only to send, not to leave the field. 2. To close without sending, click **Cancel** or press **Escape**. This cancellation applies to the current entry, not to a command already sent. ## Check the result The **Value sent: …** message appears and the window closes as soon as the request is sent. Then check the value and mode displayed on the card, and the observable behavior of the device: the device is what confirms that the value was applied. To then hand control back to automation, click **Auto** on the same card and check the result, as described in [the modes guide](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-control/). ## Troubleshooting If **Custom** is grayed out, hover over it on a computer to read its hint, then have the configuration corrected by the person responsible: | Hint | Cause | Action | | --- | --- | --- | | **Missing KNX address** | No address in the equipment’s **Controlled Value Control** block. | Enter the validated address and DPT in the [equipment’s KNX configuration](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-equipment-knx/). | | **Intensity range not configured** | LEKTRI.CO or EVlink Pro AC charger: currents missing, or minimum not below maximum. | Enter **Minimum Intensity (A)** and **Maximum Intensity (A)** in the [EVCP charger configuration](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-evcp-config/). | | **DPT … unsupported** | The DPT of the command has no Custom form. | Check the DPT planned for the KNX object. | Do not enter an arbitrary address or range to enable the button. - **Send** remains grayed out: check that a choice has been made, that the numeric field is not empty and that the value is within the suggested range. - The value was sent in the right project, but there is still no result: do not repeat the sends or change the configuration for this symptom alone. If the problem persists, or if the message or the setting to use remains uncertain, contact support@can-nx.com with the equipment, the value and unit, the displayed message, the time and the attempts made. French labels: **Tableau de bord → Équip. → Custom**, **Valeur personnalisée**, **Ampères**, **Envoyer**, **Annuler** and **Valeur envoyée : …**.
