--- title: "Emergy’nX: force equipment ON or OFF, then return to Auto" description: Force a piece of equipment to run or stop from its card on the Emergy’nX dashboard, check the result on the device, then hand control back with Auto. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-control/ language: en product: Emergy’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Emergy’nX, Dashboard: Auto, OFF and ON buttons on equipment cards, real project" --- # Emergy’nX: force equipment ON or OFF, then return to Auto Context: Emergy’nX, Dashboard: Auto, OFF and ON buttons on equipment cards, real project On the Emergy’nX dashboard, each equipment card carries the **Auto**, **OFF** and **ON** buttons. They force a device to stop or run, then hand control back to automatic control. For people authorized to control the equipment concerned in their real project. A forced mode can change how the device operates: identify it before acting. In the demo, these commands do not control your installation. ## Before you start Check the project name in the top bar and the **Connected** indicator. If you are not sure you are in your real project, start by [checking your access](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-access/). ## Force the device to run or stop 1. Open **Dashboard**, then **Equip.** in the bar at the bottom of the dashboard. On a phone, the button may show only four squares. 2. Find the device’s card by its name, scrolling the panel if necessary. Fictitious example: **Reception heating**. 3. Below its power, click the desired mode: | Button | Request | | --- | --- | | **Auto** | Hand control back to automation, which decides: the device does not necessarily stay on permanently. | | **OFF** | Request a forced stop. | | **ON** | Request forced operation. | The click sends the request directly: this path has neither a save button nor an additional confirmation. Avoid repeated clicks while waiting for a result. ## Return to automatic control To end a forced mode, click **Auto** on the same card, then check the result. This choice hands control back to automatic control; it does not restore a history of previous settings. ## Check the result After the request, look together at the highlighted button, any **On** or **Off** indication on the card, the power and the observable behavior of the device. Zero power is not enough to establish the mode; confirm that the command was physically executed by observing the device itself. ## Troubleshooting If nothing changes after the click: 1. Check that you are in the real project: the demo does not pass these requests on to the equipment. 2. Check the card name and the displayed connection. If it shows **Disconnected**, wait for it to be restored before making a new request. 3. Do not change the addresses, the equipment type or the control scenarios for this issue alone. To send a custom setpoint rather than a forced mode, follow [the Custom path](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-custom/). If you do not know which value or unit to choose for the device, contact support before entering it. For other symptoms, see [the dashboard](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-dashboard/) and [common issues](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/emergy-help/). ## Contact support If you have already tried in the right context and there is still no result, write to support@can-nx.com with the project, the equipment, the button chosen, the time, the observed mode and power, and the attempts made. French labels: **Tableau de bord**, **Équip.**; the buttons keep the names **Auto**, **OFF** and **ON**.
