--- title: Time zone, language, unit and Y scale in Chart’nX description: Change the time zone, language, shared Y scale and water unit (litres or m³) of a Chart’nX dashboard without altering the recorded measurements. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-display/ language: en product: Chart’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Chart’nX: top bar of a saved dashboard in view mode, energy or water" --- # Time zone, language, unit and Y scale in Chart’nX Context: Chart’nX: top bar of a saved dashboard in view mode, energy or water The top bar of a saved Chart’nX dashboard sets how the charts are displayed: time zone, interface language, shared vertical scale and, for a water dashboard, the volume unit. These settings change the presentation, not the measurements. For users, administrators and installers, from the dashboard open in view mode. ## Choose the time zone 1. Open **Timezone** in the top bar. On a small screen, this field may sit on a line below the other controls. 2. In **Type to search...**, search for the country in English, for example **France** or **United States**. The search applies to the country: a city name alone may not give the expected result. 3. Select the city you want among the suggestions, for example **Paris** under **France**. The time zone is a display setting: it does not set a gateway’s clock. To compare or export data, also check [the period](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-period/) and [the CSV timestamp options](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/chart-export-format/). ## Change the language 1. In the same bar, click the globe shown with **FR** or **EN**, tooltip **Change language**. 2. Choose **Français** or **English**. The translated controls change language. An application that embeds Chart’nX can also pass its language on to it. This choice does not translate the names of your dashboards and meters. The calendar’s period shortcuts stay in English. ## Compare charts with the same scale Check **Shared Y scale**, near the time zone and the export: the time-series charts of the same unit family then use the same vertical axis range. Uncheck it to return to each chart’s own scale. Series expressed in different units do not become comparable as a result. ## Choose the unit of a water dashboard On a water dashboard, open **Unit**, then choose **L (Litre)** or **m³ (Cubic Metre)**. The values are displayed in the selected unit. This field does not apply to energy dashboards. ## Check the result - After changing the time zone, check the chart times. - Only the display changes: the recorded measurements stay the same. - If you export, also check the units and timestamps chosen for the CSV. ## Troubleshooting - A control is missing: check that you are viewing the saved dashboard, not the generator or its preview. On mobile, look at the following lines of the bar. - A city cannot be found: search for its country in English, then choose the city in the list. If your interface still differs, write to support@can-nx.com with the application used, the dashboard and the setting you are looking for. French labels: **Fuseau horaire**, **Ecrivez pour rechercher...**, **Modifier la langue**, **Échelle Y partagée**, **Unité**.
