--- title: Command history of a zone or floor in Boss’nX description: "Find who sent which command in a Boss’nX zone or floor: History panel, search, filters by component and entries grouped by date." canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-zone-history/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - utilisateur - administrateur - installateur context: "Boss’nX, Building, By floor tab: History panel of a zone or floor, with the permission to view logs" --- # Command history of a zone or floor in Boss’nX Context: Boss’nX, Building, By floor tab: History panel of a zone or floor, with the permission to view logs The Boss’nX **History** panel lists the commands recorded for the components of a zone or floor: datapoint, value, author and timestamp. A search and component filters help you find who commanded what, and when. Intended for users, administrators and installers with the permission to view the supervision’s logs, including in a supervision opened from the hypervision, within the account’s scope. For a single component, with its KNX entries, use [the component history](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-component-history/) instead. ## Open a zone’s history 1. Open **Building**, **By floor** tab, and find the zone card. 2. Click its small history icon, if available. You can also open the zone, then click **History** next to its title. 3. Check the zone name under the **History** title of the panel that opens on the right. The access landmarks are detailed in [the building topology](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-building/) and [viewing a zone](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-zone/). ## Open a floor’s history In the **By floor** tab, click **History** in the floor’s header, then check its name in the panel subtitle. The grouping of zones attached directly to a building part is not a floor: it has no such button. ## Read an entry The panel shows the recorded commands concerning the components attached to the selected zone or floor. The most recent entries appear first, grouped under **Today**, **Yesterday** or a date. Each entry shows the datapoint concerned and the recorded value, then the component, the available user or role label and the timestamp. A dash may replace missing information. The name displayed for the author may be a role label when the account is not resolved. The value is the one written in the command: it may be numeric even if the component’s state is displayed elsewhere as text. To check the physical state obtained, look at the component’s status feedback. When available, the panel’s **Analytics** button opens the Analytics page with the monitored datapoints of the zone’s or floor’s components already selected. Then follow [displaying measurements in a chart](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-analytics-consult/). ## Search and filter in a zone 1. Enter a word or a value in **Search...**. 2. Wait for the list to refresh. The search covers the displayed datapoint, component, author label and value. 3. If needed, click the button bearing a component name to limit the list to that component. 4. Select several components to see their entries together. Click a button again to remove it from the selection. 5. Use **All** to remove the component selection. Also clear the search to see all the zone’s loaded entries again. The first five filter buttons are visible; a **+…** button shows the following ones. A component with a zero counter cannot be selected. These counters cover the commands loaded before the text search, so they do not necessarily decrease with it. ## Search in a floor’s history Use **Search...** to find a component, a datapoint, an author or a value in the floor, and keep **All** for this view. If clicking a zone chip produces an empty list despite a non-zero counter, return to **All**, clear the search, then open the zone’s history directly. ## Close or reload the panel Click the **Close** cross, press **Esc** or click outside the panel. Closing clears the panel’s search and filters; the logs remain intact. In the demo, the top banner may cover the panel’s title and cross. Use **Esc** or click in the darkened area outside the panel instead. The panel loads the entries when it opens, with no continuous refresh afterwards: reopen **History** to request a new load. The retention period of the commands is not shown in this panel. ## Troubleshooting | Display | What to do | | --- | --- | | **No results for this search** | Clear **Search...**, choose **All**, then check the zone or floor scope. | | **No log** | Close and reopen the panel. Check the expected component and period with the administrator before concluding that no command was sent. | | Error message or loading that does not complete | Check your session, then reopen the panel once. Note the exact message if the failure persists. | | **History** button missing | Have the log viewing permission checked. On a narrow screen, use a wider screen if the actions near the title are out of view. | ## Contact support If these checks do not let you find the expected entry, write to support@can-nx.com with the supervision, the zone or floor, the component, the date you are looking for and the result obtained. Also write to support: - to identify precisely an author whose display is ambiguous, giving the date and the component; - for an archive search or a precise retention period; - if a zone chip in a floor gives an empty list, giving the floor and the chip; - if a loading error persists, with the exact message. French labels: **Historique**, **Rechercher...**, **Tous**, **Aucun log**, **Aucun résultat pour cette recherche**, **Aujourd'hui**, **Hier**, **Fermer**, **Analyses**.
