--- title: Change the Boss’nX site title, location and map position description: Set the site title, its location, its time zone and its latitude and longitude on the map in the Site Information page of a Boss’nX supervision. canonical: https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-site-info/ language: en product: Boss’nX audience: - administrateur - installateur context: "Boss’nX supervision: Menu → Site Information (Administration family), Manage topology right" --- # Change the Boss’nX site title, location and map position Context: Boss’nX supervision: Menu → Site Information (Administration family), Manage topology right The **Site Information** page of a Boss’nX supervision stores the site title, its location and its position on the map as latitude and longitude. This position can serve as a reference for the geographic restrictions of QR accesses. ## Before you start - You have the **Manage topology** right in the relevant supervision. - From hypervision, first open this supervision with [the context switch](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-hypervision-switch/). ## Open the Site Information page 1. Open **Menu → Site Information**, in the Administration family. On a tablet or phone, **Menu** is at the right of the bottom bar; [the Boss navigation](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-navigation/) describes these entry points. 2. Wait for the loading to finish. If an error appears, do not replace the existing information from an empty form: leave the page, then reopen it. ## Fill in the title, location and position 1. Fill in **Site Title** and **Location**, for example “Demonstration site” and “Paris, France”, fictional examples to replace. 2. Check **Time zone**: it is used for the times shown in alarm e-mails and is deduced from the map position until you pick one yourself. 3. Under **Map Position**, click the location of the site, or fill in **Latitude** and **Longitude**. 4. Respect the limits: latitude between −90 and 90, longitude between −180 and 180. Decimals are allowed. Fill in both coordinates to define a complete position. When no position is filled in, the map may suggest your browser’s position. Check that it is really the site: if you work remotely, the building is not where you are. You can also choose the point on the map or enter the coordinates without using this suggestion. **Resolving address…** indicates the search for a location text from the coordinates. A custom text already entered is kept: moving the point does not necessarily replace **Location**. If the text remains empty or does not match the site, fill it in yourself. ## Save the information 1. Review the position and the **Location** text. 2. Click **Save**. 3. Wait for **Site information saved.**. The page remains open. The **Back** button, the arrow at the top left, leaves the page without saving: it does not replace **Save**. ## Check the result Leave the page, then reopen **Site Information** to check the values that were kept. If you moved the site, check the accesses that use its position in the [geographic restrictions of QR codes](https://wiki.can-nx.com/en/guides/boss-qr-configure/). Saving coordinates confirms neither an available weather measurement nor the actual position of a guest. ## Cancel or restore values - To cancel changes that are not yet saved, leave and reopen the page. - After a save, enter the old values again, then save them. - Emptying a field does not necessarily erase old information permanently: for a complete deletion, first have support confirm the procedure. ## Troubleshooting | Message or observation | Action | | --- | --- | | **Invalid latitude.**, **Invalid longitude.** or a browser indication | Correct the field within its limits, then try again. | | **Failed to save.** | Note the message, then reopen the page to check the saved state before trying again. | If the loading error or the save failure persists, write to support@can-nx.com with the context and the attempts already made, without a private link or secret.
